The Shingu Hotel boasts a fantastic location, just a 6-8 minute walk from Shingu Station. For its price point, the room size was surprisingly generous. The absolute highlight was the hotel's breakfast – an authentic Japanese spread that was simply delicious! Right near the hotel, you'll find a good supermarket called Okuwa, and an excellent yakitori restaurant named Toriyoshi. Shingu Hayatama Taisha Shrine is also conveniently about a 10-minute walk away and is definitely worth visiting!

Kudos to Ctrip! The hotel I originally booked was unable to accommodate me, but their customer service team offered several alternative options and gave me ample time to rebook, all without any extra cost on my part. Their genuine effort to resolve the issue was highly appreciated. The hotel is easily visible once you exit the JR station; just follow the green-painted road. It's about a 10-minute walk, even with luggage in tow. The room was remarkably spacious, surprisingly so for a Japanese hotel! While the decor showed its age a bit, it was very well-maintained and immaculately clean. Shingu itself isn't a bustling town, and the streets were quite empty. However, I was surprised by how many guests were at breakfast. The breakfast itself was average taste-wise, but the selection was plentiful, so you could definitely get a full and satisfying meal.

Conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from JR Shingu Station, the hotel offers spacious and spotlessly clean rooms. Amenities include a laundry room on the 2nd floor, a large public bath and massage chairs on the 3rd floor, and microwaves are thoughtfully placed in the hallway on every floor. A major supermarket right next door makes grocery shopping incredibly easy. I'd confidently say this is the best hotel in Shingu, as it practically caters to every guest's need. It serves as an excellent and convenient base for embarking on and completing the certified Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage.

Excellent. I stayed here again after returning from Tanabe City. My only slight disappointment was that the public bath wasn't open in the morning. Since I usually wash my hair in the morning, I had to use the bathroom in my room instead. However, for a hotel at this price point, the breakfast was incredibly generous and varied. They even had a lovely setup where you could fry your own eggs in a small pan, which was a really nice touch.

We picked this hotel as our base for visiting Kumano Hongu Taisha and Shingu Hayatama Taisha. It's one of the better hotel options in Shingu. The location is excellent, with a large supermarket nearby and convenient access to the train station.

We made an unplanned overnight stop in Shingu during our trip to Kumano Kodo and Kumano Hayatama Taisha on the Kii Peninsula. It's a quiet and charming little town, though there isn't a huge selection of shops or restaurants nearby. Luckily, there's a shopping mall which easily covered our dining needs for breakfast and dinner. The hotel had a laundry room, which was really handy for washing clothes. Service at the hotel was also great. While the price was quite a bit higher than what we'd typically pay back in China, the overall experience was excellent.

The location couldn't be better – just a 5-minute walk to both the subway station and the bustling commercial area, making it incredibly convenient for transportation and shopping. The room itself was cozy and immaculately clean, with incredibly soft bedding that ensured two wonderfully comfortable nights' sleep. The bathroom featured a practical wet/dry separation, and the smart toilet coupled with the spacious rain shower added a touch of modern comfort. The hotel's service was truly exceptional and thoughtful. From the warm and professional front desk staff during check-in to the efficient room service, every interaction was a pleasure. They even offered a complimentary sweet soup in the evening – the attention to detail was impeccable! Breakfast boasted a wide and delicious variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. Overall, it offers excellent value for money, and I will absolutely choose to stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommended to everyone!

The hotel's location was fairly easy to find. However, since the lobby is on the third floor, the ground floor didn't quite look like a hotel entrance, and I almost walked right past it. The room was well-equipped, featuring two large beds, a small round table, and chairs. The space was generous, and it was spotlessly clean. It's also very convenient for exploring nearby attractions – a big plus!

The hot water pressure was a bit weak, and the facilities are showing their age. However, the location is excellent: it's just a 5-minute walk from the station along the green pedestrian path. It's also very convenient for visiting Hongu Taisha. For those planning a day hike, Shingu makes an excellent base. Plus, there's a large supermarket nearby, which is handy for stocking up on supplies.

For Shingu, this is considered a pretty upscale hotel. While the facilities might not be on par with those in major cities, it's exceptionally clean and the breakfast is good. It's also conveniently located very close to Shingu Station, making access to Kumano Hongu Taisha and Kumano Hayatama Taisha quite easy. I highly recommend visiting this tranquil and serene area to experience life at a different pace.

The hotel is conveniently located, just a 7-8 minute walk from Shingu Station, and Ashuka Shrine, Hayatama Taisha, and Kamikura Shrine are all within walking distance. While the rooms are on the smaller side, there's a spacious public bath on the lobby level, which is very relaxing.

Location perfect walking 7m to shingu Station. Next is a mall, conveniently locked carryon after check out hotel while visited Hayatama Taisha can walk abt 20m or take bus abt 5m. For the price and its a 4stars(?) Hotel I was disappointed no coffee or tea or mineral water were provided, you hv to buy coupon to hv coffee, that's odd. BUT thumbs up to the front desk staff they were very helpful and courteous. They hv free bath though which is commendable but too tired to try wished I did. Good stay, clean, quiet, safe

This has been the most disappointing hotel I've stayed at recently: 1. The front desk is located on the 3rd floor, with the ground floor serving as a car park. There was a complete lack of signage guiding us, and the only instructions were found inside the elevator, leading to quite a bit of confusion upon our arrival. 2. This is perhaps the only hotel I've encountered recently that doesn't provide complimentary bottled water, which I found rather peculiar. 3. Instead of a proper duvet cover, they simply placed a single sheet over the duvet. This is a common practice in basic guesthouses or B&Bs, but certainly not what one expects from a reputable hotel. 4. I had read reviews praising the breakfast as rich and varied, but I honestly wondered if they were referring to the same establishment. Given the additional charge of approximately 70 RMB for breakfast, it was utterly not worth the price. On the positive side: Its proximity to JR Shingu Station is a major convenience.
