Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel

Standard Marriott service. It's quite close to the beach; going downhill is easy, but returning to the hotel involves an uphill climb, which can be a bit tiring. The room was spacious and clean, with complimentary toiletries provided. Breakfast was also fairly standard, typical of Marriott's offerings. A big plus is the breakfast restaurant's view, directly facing the sea.

The main picture is misleading! I couldn't find the hotel after getting off the train. The first attached picture is what it actually looks like! Exit Tottori Station North Exit, and it's diagonally opposite on your left. Look for a large '由' character on the roof; the tall building to its left is the hotel. The front desk was decent, and simple English communication was possible. According to the lobby display, this year marks their 50th anniversary, and both the Emperor and Crown Prince have visited. The rooms are a bit old, but the towels are very new, and the lamps have a classic, old-money vibe. I have to rave about the breakfast coffee! And they even have ice cream. I ended up drinking three cups on the first day 🤣 The breakfast features many Tottori specialties. It's very thoughtfully prepared, and if you buy it with the accommodation, it's not expensive. For three people, two nights for under 2000 RMB, I think it's a great deal. The location is truly excellent! It's right opposite the train station, with many shops and a huge 7-Eleven. The bus station is also directly across the road; the bus to the sand dunes is just 10 meters from the hotel entrance. There's a shopping mall next door. This will be my first choice next time I visit!
