Hotel Sanrakuso

We booked a private hot spring room with two meals this time. Extremely satisfied! The front desk service was attentive and thoughtful. The hotel faces the beach directly, and the private hot spring is right on the balcony of the room. Soaking in the hot spring while enjoying the sea view was incredibly relaxing. The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and cozy, with a full set of toiletries, bottled water, and snacks provided. The dinner was very rich, with fresh and delicious ingredients. While the breakfast options weren't as extensive, there was still plenty to eat. Overall, I'm very happy with my stay. Suggestion: Would it be possible to offer a late-night snack, like a bowl of ramen, for guests who have finished their hot spring bath around 9-11 PM? (I've experienced this at other hot spring hotels in Japan).

The hotel was dirty, rundown, and old. The only convenient thing was the bus stop right across the street. We booked a premium sea view room, and the pictures showed a balcony, but when we checked in, it turned out to be a service balcony that you couldn't actually walk out onto. The entire room's facilities were broken and old, and the bedding looked so worn out, almost dirty, like something you'd find in a low-end guesthouse in a third- or fourth-tier city. Paying this price for such a room felt like my intelligence was being rubbed on the ground. The staff were also generally cold, and I wondered if they treated Chinese guests differently. When we first entered the room, we even found a huge insect on the ceiling. Don't they check these things when cleaning the room?

Overall, it was excellent, living up to its reputation as a classic brand. The view outside the window was indeed unique and stunning. The front desk had Chinese-speaking staff, and dinner was very enjoyable, especially the Kumano beef steak which was delicious. There are two floors for the hot springs, which are very spacious. We had a very comfortable stay with the 'one night, two meals' package. The only downsides were the limited number of power outlets in the room and the slightly inconvenient light switches.

I had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shirahama for a relaxing getaway. First off, the location is fantastic. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and after taking bus #12 from Shirahama JR Station, you get off directly at the hotel. The hotel staff are very welcoming and were at the entrance to help with luggage – super friendly! Across the street from the hotel is Shirarahama Beach, which is stunning whether it's cloudy or sunny. The white sand paired with the blue ocean is a real treat for the eyes. Shirahama is very quiet at night, and shops close early, but within a five-minute walk, there's a FamilyMart, Lawson, and a 24-hour supermarket. So, if you need snacks or drinks, these are great options. The hotel also has a microwave on the first floor for heating food. You can even buy fireworks at the supermarket to enjoy on the beach. Room: The room was very spacious with plenty of space and directly faced the beach. During my two-day stay, I spent time just relaxing in the room, watching the sunset, observing people on the beach, or heading downstairs to cross the road and lie on the beach or play in the water. It was incredibly relaxing for both my mind and body. The room had both a bathtub and a shower. The bathtub was right next to the balcony, so you could soak while enjoying the view. The hotel also has indoor hot springs, but unfortunately, I couldn't use them. Service: Most of the staff were middle-aged men and women, very kind and gentle. There was also a Chinese-speaking girl with a particularly soft voice who always greeted me with a smile. The service was excellent. Although breakfast was the same every day, it tasted quite good. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely choose Sanrakuso again if I come back to Shirahama.
