We were very pleased with our stay at The Spinney in May. Everything was very well thought out and the hosts were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room we had (no 5) was very spacious and the bed was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection of hot and cold food. The area is very peaceful and rural with excellent views of the countryside. There is very good parking on site.

Very comfortable, spotlessly clean,lovely views and easy access to Barnstaple, Exmoor and beaches. Mick and Penny are lovely friendly people who always go the extra mile and made our stay very relaxing. We would definately recommend and will return.

Stayed for five days with my wife. Very comfortable room and excellent freshly cooked breakfasts. Very well looked after by Penny & Mike throughout our stay. Would strongly recommend the guesthouse and would definitely return if in the area.

What a lovely place. Everything was perfect, from the food to the hosts, it was a delightful few days. We will go back for sure! They even went out of their way to accommodate the fact that I have CKD and can’t have salt! They provided me with no salt butter for my toast.

Spent 2 nights at The Spinny it was superb! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The whole house is spotlessly clean and Penny and Mick made us so welcome in their home. There was everything you need and the breakfast was first class plus, beautifully cooked and presented and plenty of choice. We will definately stay again and would absolutely recommend.

We spent 2 nights at this Guest House recently whilst on a cycling holiday. Penny & Mick were lovely people who kindly stored our bikes for us and helpful in anything we needed. The room was spotlessly clean, with biscuits and chocolates, tea &coffee & hot chocolate drink in our room. The breakfast was really superb, everything you could ask for. The location was very good and I would return and recommend this guest house.

What a gem of place. Mike and Penny made us welcome and we had a relaxing 2 day stay. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Loads of cushions and 3 easy chairs. Debbie lovely. Bed comfortable and pillows aplenty. All usual things like tea/coffee, hairdryer etc. Little extra touches including tissues in the bedroom, cottonl wool and buds etc, air freshener for the en suite, bath robes, selection of teas, even umbrellas for guests to use (it rained when we stayed) . The breakfasts are amazing, and Penny wasn't phased when i asked for poached eggs! We will definitely be back. Can certainly recommend.

We couldn't rate The Spinney highly enough. Beautiful setting, extremely clean, fantastic breakfast. Mick and Penny were so friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. I couldn't sleep with the pillows provided and Penny managed to supply us with two feather pillows! Everything provided, lovely biscuits! Very convenient setting, we stayed for 4 nights and managed to visit nearly the whole of north devon! Just had trouble with the TV, when you managed to get it on, we daren't change channels for fear of losing the whole picture. Not the Spinney's fault, they have done everything they can, but the reception in north devon is awful. We would certainly recommend The Spinney for an extremely comfortable stay.
