Ceylon Retreat Sigiriya was perfection from start to finish. The place is truly in the middle of nowhere — and that’s exactly the magic. Absolute quiet, no noise, no chaos, just nature and peace. The staff were genuinely kind, warm, and always ready to help, not the forced hotel-smile kind, but real hospitality. And one non-negotiable: get the massage. No exaggeration, it was the best massage of our lives — the kind that completely resets both body and mind. If you’re coming here, don’t skip it. Some places you visit, some places you feel — this one stays with you.

The location is completely inaccurate. Keep in mind that the hotel is completely isolated and inaccessible on foot. The menu only offers vegetarian food, which doesn't taste very good. The hotel is clean and beautiful, with a nice view, which is a big plus. However, we encountered a major problem the next morning when we left for breakfast for exactly 30 minutes, even though there was someone sleeping in one of the cabins. We relaxed and left our money in the room for the first time. As a result, $700 was stolen from two cabins (one $300, the other $400). No one but the staff could do anything about it, as the surrounding area is just a field and a lake. Five hours of discussions and interrogations with the police yielded no results. Ultimately, we missed the place we were looking for, wasting our time and money. Our vacation was ruined.
