This Conrad hotel has quite a history, having previously operated as a Regent and even a Four Seasons before its renovation into the current Conrad. The atrium design is truly unique, with a stunning 12-story high ceiling that allows natural light to beautifully filter through the glass roof, creating a very pleasant ambiance. The elevators look like elegant birdcages, and the escalators are spiral-shaped, adorned with some greenery. I snapped a few photos as I passed by, and they turned out quite Instagram-worthy.
The location is incredibly convenient, just a short 10-minute walk to ION Orchard and Ngee Ann City, right in the heart of Orchard Road. It's an ideal choice for shoppers. While it's about an 8-minute walk to the nearest MRT station, there are also two bus stops nearby with plenty of routes, so taking a taxi is a good alternative if you prefer not to walk. The Botanic Gardens are a pleasant 15-minute walk away, or a quick S$8 taxi ride. I visited twice, and both trips were very smooth.
This time I stayed in a Deluxe King Room. The room size was quite generous for Singapore standards, feeling spacious and not at all cramped. The room's decor, featuring a soothing palette of sandy beige, cream, and light green, along with tasteful wall prints, created a very comfortable atmosphere. The bathroom toiletries were Byredo's Mojave Ghost, a scent I quite liked. The complimentary mini-bar offered cookies and TWG tea bags, while other items were chargeable. However, there was one drawback: the toilet door didn't close properly.
The hotel doesn't provide bottled water, opting instead for a direct drinking water tap in the room, which they state is for environmental reasons. This seems to be a common practice in many Singaporean hotels. However, I wasn't entirely comfortable using the provided cups, so I'd suggest bringing your own reusable water bottle. Toiletries are in large, refillable bottles. Toothbrushes are available upon request from housekeeping but aren't replaced daily, so you'll need to keep and reuse them.
Breakfast is served at the Basilico restaurant on the second floor, which is connected to the pool area. Upon checking in, the front desk advised us that there might be a queue around 9 AM and suggested we go earlier. Upon our arrival, the wait staff thoughtfully asked if we preferred coffee or tea. The beef noodles at breakfast were delicious, and the chef preparing them sounded like they were from Guangdong. However, the breakfast spread remained largely the same throughout our four-day stay, which became a bit repetitive.
In terms of service, all the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly, and many spoke Mandarin, making communication effortless. We checked in with our child, and because I had informed the hotel in advance via email about their birthday, they kindly surprised us with a cake.

The best part of our family trip to Singapore was our stay at the Conrad. The room was spacious, and both the sofa and bed were very comfortable. The hotel gave us a high-floor room with an amazing view, including the Merlion. Every staff member we encountered was warm and friendly. The room was cleaned meticulously, and the turndown service even included cookies, muffins, and a Christmas card. We arrived late at night for check-in. After getting to our room, we requested extra slippers and a blanket, and housekeeping was very quick to respond, even proactively bringing children's toothbrushes. The location is excellent too, right above the Promenade MRT station. Suntec City is across the street, and Marina Square is next door. All these malls are accessible via sky bridges, making it super convenient for activities like the Duck Tour and visiting the Merlion.
