Strand Hotel Singapore

The hotel is conveniently located near a subway station with plenty of restaurants nearby. The room is spacious. However, the facilities are a bit old. They only provide toothbrushes, bath towels, tissues, and disposable slippers; other disposable items like combs, shower caps, cotton swabs, and shampoo are not provided and need to be brought by guests. It rained for the past few days, and the room felt very damp, so we had to keep the air conditioning on. I didn't notice any strange smells. Overall, it's a good value for a short stay.

The cleanliness was just okay, acceptable. The service attitude was good, and they basically understood Chinese. They told us where we could get water and also gave us some tips. There are also small tables and chairs in the lobby where you can sit, which is quite comfortable.

The room had a really strong, unpleasant smell, a mix of perfume, almost like it came from a foreigner. I had to air it out for a long time with the windows and door open. The hotel's big plus is its excellent location; the Bencoolen MRT station is right downstairs, and there are many well-known chain breakfast spots nearby. You can walk to many attractions or get there in just a few subway stops. Beyond the room itself, the hotel offers nothing else – no gym, no breakfast. The furniture in the room, like the table and chairs, felt quite cheap, probably a cost-saving measure. The room size was decent, though. I guess Singapore's prices are just really high; for over 800 (presumably SGD), this is probably all you can expect.

The room was tiny, and there was only one power outlet. No shower gel was provided. The mirror was also crooked, and the lighting wasn't great, making it really hard to do my makeup. However, the location was excellent.

The hotel is a bit old, and the hot water in the shower takes a long time to heat up. I recommend letting the water run for a while before getting in, otherwise, it will be cold. The room size is a bit more spacious compared to other hotels in the same price range, but there are many hotels nearby, so if you prefer a newer environment, you have plenty of options. You can get free bottled water on the first floor. The transportation is convenient, and the subway station is quite close.

The hotel was exceptionally clean, with a spotless lobby and rooms. The room itself was very spacious, offering ample usable area. Overall, it was a great stay. Plus, it's very close to the subway station and has a 7-Eleven right across the street, which is super convenient. Definitely a good choice!

Aside from the front desk staff, everything else about this hotel was truly disappointing. I went into the bathroom to take a shower and found what looked like ***** hair in the bathtub, all curly. It really makes you wonder. Then I opened the cabinet to get an extra pillow and discovered a pair of used pasties from the previous guest inside... Honestly, it was so disgusting it made me want to puke.
