Hotel Traveltine Downtown Singapore, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

During my stay, I had to switch rooms three times. The first room had short hairs on the bed (we're two women with long hair). The second room had a very strong mildew smell that made it hard to breathe. The third room was no different. Overall, I don't think there's a single good room in this hotel. The windows in this hotel are sealed shut, so there's no ventilation. The fresh air system is just for show; I strongly suspect it's full of bacteria and viruses and hasn't been disinfected at all. There wasn't even a chance to smell bleach, and no deodorizers were used. The shower stream was like something out of a horror movie. The toilet float was also strange; it took ages for the tank to refill after flushing, constantly making a running water noise. If you flushed in the middle of the night, you'd have to endure that sound for a long time. I was beyond frustrated by all the room changes.

The room facilities are quite old. The male Chinese staff at the front desk had a terrible attitude and was very emotional. The hotel doesn't proactively change the bedsheets; you have to ask. They also don't make the bed. The surrounding area is relatively noisy, with a lot of people of Indian descent, and the soundproofing is poor. The sink drain was also slow.

The 'window' refers to a sealed window. If it rains, the room becomes very damp and smells unpleasant. When it doesn't rain, the room's smell is acceptable. The room is cleaned daily, and two bottles of mineral water are provided each day. The facilities are a bit old. It's very close to the subway, and there are many dining options nearby. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Sultan Mosque, and there are many Indian faces around.

The hotel's location is decent, not far from Marina Bay Sands in the city center, and getting a taxi is very convenient. There's also a food street nearby with lots of Turkish and Arabic cuisine. The hotel breakfast is good; while not extensive, the variety is sufficient. The room was quite clean, but the space was incredibly small and the facilities were just average. A room of this caliber would cost around 200-300 RMB in China, yet it's 1500 here. Singapore's prices are really high, I guess.
