Smy Sighientu Thalasso & Spa Sardegna

We had a lovely holiday in May in Sighientu resort. Very nice hotel, just 40 min drive away from Cagliari airport. The food was very good, every day was a different choice of food, very well cooked and full of flavour. Loved it. Big beautiful swimming pool, very clean and plenty of Sun beds. The sea is very clean with crystal clear water. Staff in the hotel was lovely and very helpful. The room could be decorate better, the walls were empty and lacking style. If you are going to stay in this hotel, I would highly recommend to hire the car as there is nothing outside of the hotel near by. You need the car to go anywhere - No bars, no restaurants, nowhere to walk to, just long streets of private villas. We had the car, so we could travel to other places. Enjoyed our stay!! :)

The best part: pool!!! Lots of sunbeds! 4 nights stay...I booked this hotel for a family break whilst exploring different areas in Sardina. One of the feature is its own beach, which was very disappointing. Full of seaweeds and stoney. Parking: outside the hotel and an overflow area. Rooms: booked 2 rooms, 1 for me and my husband and 1 for our adult boys. Our room was on 3rd floor, which were spacious but lack useful furnitures. The digital lock did not work so normal key to use which sounds loud. A phone which supposed to be used to call reception did not work either. There's small smelly fridge and a safe. On the plus side, there's a huge lounge area outside the few rooms and a huge terrace area but only enjoyable in the evenings as too hot during the daytime. Boys room was in 2nd floor which is smaller than ours and smelled unpleasant. Has a bath tub. Ants in some areas of both rooms. The housekeeping lady gave me a bottle of antspray... sorted! No kettles in rooms and ac has only one temperature setting. Breakfast: We only booked the breakfast and not opted for all-inclusive as we planned to try different restaurants in evenings. Buffet Breakfast choice is the same everyday. Not the best quality but a nice coffee bar with barista made up up for the poor quality food available. There were fruits available both fresh and from tins. Juices from machine ( watery or sugary). There was always something to fill you up like yoghurts, cakes eggs and bacons etc. Same restaurant is used for lunch and dinner. Pool area: Entertainment around the pool except lunchtime- 15.00. Pool size is very good and clean. The pool bar is attached to the pizza restaurant ( only open at dinner). That's only bar that serves the whole hotel. Quite expensive for drinks and snacks. Spa area: costs extra 20 eur per 2 hrs ( indoor pool and a smaller pool outside the gym). Reception: Helpful receptionist. No bar just a water station. There are no machines to get softdrinks or coffees after 12 midnight. Restaurants in the area: Victory... next to hotel. It serves local dishes, mostly seafood. Nice dishes but slightly pricey. Mammai's... abot 10-12 mins walk located by the main road, also a seafood restaurant. Green Pizzeria by the main road is the same distance. Mini COOP next to Mammai's about 8 mins walk. Good place to get snacks and drinks from. It's 30 mins drive to Cagliari; 15 mins drive to Poetto which has nice long beach and close to McDonalds. There are few nice beaches nearby. But you would need a car. Villasimius is about 45 mins away by car. There are buses both to Cagliari and Villasimius from outside mini Coop. Always check your booking as this hotel charge compulsory fees for using towels, gym, main pool, to be paid on check-in. You are given a watch-like bracelet to use when paying for something in the hotel like drinks, etc. Overall, this hotel is in a nice setting, by a marina but is definitely in a 3 star standard.

Comfortable Rooms with Balcony: The room was cozy, complete with a nice balcony. The bed comfortable and linens good quality. ‍♂️ Beautiful Pool: the pool is stunning ‍♀️ Thalasso Therapy Spa: The spa stole the show! and the staff particularly Giovanni was very helpful It has an entrance fee but that makes for a better and less crowded experience Enrico deserves a special shout-out for exceptional service. Kudos to the unnamed donna who generously shared her hand cream! Andreas and Patrizia wee also helpful as were the entire front desk staff. Wi-Fi Woes: The unstable Wi-Fi was a major downside. Definitely an area for improvement. experience. ️ Dining Notes: While the resort’s restaurant and staff could improve, the Victory next door is a delightful alternative. Breakfast is promptly shut off at 10, without even access to coffee. Dinner is only buffet

A fantastic resort in a great location in southern Sardinia - well-maintained, with a beautiful garden, large pool, kids' area, as well as a private beach and friendly English-speaking staff :) The All Inclusive food is very tasty and diverse, with both meat and vegetarian options, daily seafood, local dishes, fruits and vegetables, as well as sweets, ice cream, and delicious freshly brewed coffee in the morning! The location itself is about a 30-40 minute drive from Cagliari airport. Nearby are the most beautiful beaches and bays on the island, and it's also close to Villasimius and Costa Rei.

Average place, not close to the name “resort”. Basic rooms, cold inside. In the bathroom kitchen towels, instead of the normal baths (except the one for a shower). In the room we missed at least a glasses, not mentioned some other equipment, which is a standard in every European hotel for two stars or more. And kindness of a personality-it’s fake. They are just there. Not for a help, but because they’re must be. Give yourself a favor, find a better accommodation for the same price.

There are some wonderful things about this hotel. The pool area is fantastic and very child friendly. My son loved the playground area and the little petting zoo. The beach access was good and we never struggled for sun loungers anywhere. The gym is good and has modern equipment and whenever we visited it wasn't over crowded. There are also some great restaurants a short drive away for those on B&B. The hotel is also a great distance from Cagliari and the airport. We also loved the eco friendly initiatives like the provision of water bottles and free water. Unfortunately though this hotel leaves a lot to be desired and my biggest complaint is with the staff. For a 4 star hotel, staff have got to be friendlier. Staff didn't speak to you unless you spoke to them, there were not enough staff in the restaurant which meant plates/bowls/cups ended up stacked on our table every day. The animation team sat around cross legged on counters on their phones and perhaps most concerning, more often than not the lifeguards sat together with their backs to the pool on their phones or chatting. More than one member or staff rolled their eyes at us. That being said, we found the front desk team to be really friendly and also the cleaning staff. The rooms need refreshing, the bathrooms are crowded and not big enough and our bedding didn't get changed for our whole stay despite being dirty. They did have great storage though. We were only bed and breakfast and to be honest I'm glad as we ate at the buffet once for dinner and found it to be severely lacking in choice. The food tasted good but I would be bored after more than a few days. The breakfast choice was the same every day. All in all, we had a pleasant stay at Sighientu and our family made some lovely memories there, there's just a lot of potential for it to be improved.

We had to change our holiday destination last minute due to personal circumstances so we didn't have much time to do a thorough research. I was quite nervous about our holiday after reading some of the hotel reviews because some were quite negative. The only negatives that I would agree with are the WiFi and to an extent the quality of the drinks. The WiFi is indeed not very stable and could be improved on, but then again I would hope that people dont go on holiday to sit in their room and surf the internet. The majority of the all inclusive drinks were on tap and therefore sometimes not always the best quality, however I do understand that all inclusive has to be economically viable and many other hotels do the same so not an issue for us...I would recommend though that the hotel provides decent orange juice in the morning because the machine issued orange juice was not great, we therefore had the herb and fruit flavoured water instead. Overall our experience was very positive, the front of house staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a family room with view of the marina and the room was nice with very efficient air con. We didn't find the decor dated, our room was clean and well decorated. No sign of ants either (mentioned in some other reviews). The housekeeping staff were very efficient and fast. Some of the reviews mentioned that the food was bad, that was not our experience. We found that most of the time there was sufficient choice for different tastes. There was always a salad option, one or two pasta dishes, one fish dish and meat dish and potatoes/carbon option, vegetables and dessert selection. It was actually quite refreshing not to see chips/fries and pizza on the menu every evening. People should also be reminded that they are on holiday in a different country so cuisine will be different than at home. The pizza in the separate pizza restaurant was great and the selection was extensive. One recommendation would be to have the pizzas buffet style so people can choose a slice of what they want because it is impossible to eat everything that is offered to you. It should also be noted that the staff in the restaurant work very hard and although we visited during high season, we didn't witness any of the issues as mentioned in other reviews where people claimed they had to clear the table. The pool was one of the best that we have experienced in holiday as it was massive so space for everyone. We didn't witness any dirty pool water as mentioned in some other reviews. All in all a great holiday at this resort. Thank you for your hospitality.

Nice building but it’s essentially an all inclusive resort for a French people. It’s noisy, dirty, expensive. Be ready to get your towels on chairs by the pool early if you want a lounger. The beach is stony and has lots of sea **** on it. None of our family want to swim in. We checked on today but will be checking out early

Hotel Sighientu is quite fine. Rooms are spacious, the facilities are older, not so modern but ok. We had problem with the door to our room and the door to the terrace – it was really difficult to close them. The bathroom had both a shower and a bath, but there wasn’t enough space between the shower and the toilet so it was difficult to use the toilet. Each individual terraces wasn’t separated from one other, so you have no privacy. The food in hotel restaurant was very tasty and we were satisfied with the selection of food. In addition to the hotel restaurant, there is also a pizzeria, which is excellent. Housekeeping was fine. If you want to spent summer holiday by the sea, don’t choose this place, because the water in the sea was so shallow. Even if you go to the buoys, the water is still only above your knees and if you try to swimm you scratch your knees. The entrance to the sea is very rocky. The hotel's beach, which included a volleyball court, was not a place to relax due to frequent sports activities and loud music, which was also constantly mixed with music from the pool.
