Koutrakis Suites by Estia

Having arrived in peak season as a solo traveller I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The hotel is ideally situated overlooking the sea, a short walk to nearby shops and restaurants and the nearby beautiful harbour. The atmosphere both day and night is friendly and welcoming and sisters Stella and Mina work very hard to provide a wonderful stay for every family, couple or individual. Both sisters took time to chat to me every day, as they did all other guests, and continued to provide recommendations and information regarding the local area and further afield. Particular thanks to intelligent and hardworking Mina who was straight on the phone to all the right people when I realised I had left my phone on a coach which was then miles away from Sissi. Her prompt and personal approach allowed the safe return of my phone, delivered in person by taxi whilst I was sat by the pool. During my 3 week stay this personal and attentive approach from both sisters never lapsed which I appreciated greatly as a solo traveller. Special thanks to Stella who recommended and organised a festival visit away from the ‘tourist’ experiences, a real Cretan experience. There was always easy access to sunbeds surrounding a pool that in peak season, for 3 weeks was never full, and often had the whole pool to myself. The food and drink served was always of very high quality and the cocktails, freshly made of far better quality than any I had anywhere else during my stay. The Mojito with mint, fresh from the garden was extremely refreshing and having tested quite a few can thoroughly recommend. My room was spacious and nicely decorated, cleaned thoroughly throughout my stay. Although I was disappointed with the view from this room on arrival, most rooms have lovely sea views, and the evening sun on one of the two large balconies was a treat on return from the days adventures. Must recommend the happy train, which lived to its name and can be booked at Koutrakis suites, a great way to see the local area, and one trip I did twice I loved it so much. As someone who tries a different Greek island every year, if I could bring this hotel to every one of those I stay in the future, I would be a very happy traveller. What a fabulous holiday, from the minute we arrived we have been treated with warm and generous cretan hospitality by the owners Stella, Mina and Manos. The hotel is beautifully clean and well accommodated and food and drink are great ! The island is an absolute beauty and not ones for going the same place twice we are reconsidering coming here again. I can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation on the seafront, Thank you for a wonderful holiday xx

My husband and I have returned from another wonderful holiday at the Koutrakis Suites from 25/9/24 to 9/10/24. We first visited the apartments in June 2024 and rebooked as soon as we got home, we have already booked to return in 2025. Mina, Stella, Manos, Litsa, Demetrius and all the Staff made us so welcome, they really looked after us, especially when my husband was poorly during our recent stay, always checking to make sure he was ok and if we needed anything. The apartments are bright, spacious and very clean and comfortable, bedding and towels replaced regularly, loved the towel art. It is so nice and relaxing to eat breakfast overlooking the sea, enjoying the food and picturesque views. The pool and grounds are well maintained. The Pool Bar is a lovely place to chill and enjoy a few beers and cocktails, especially loved the Mojitos made by Manos, also the occasional fabulous family barbeques, where guests are invited to join them. We cannot wait for our next holiday at these lovely apartments, it is our happy place and we feel really at home. Thank you Koutrakis Suites and Sissi for making our holiday memories special. We are really looking forward to seeing you all again next year.

We had a great stay at Koutrakis Suites. It’s the perfect location to enjoy the small village of Sissi. We had a laid back breakfast every morning looking out over the blue sea and blue sky, then a swim in the harbour, a sandwich from one of the cafes in the village and a drive out to a local location in the afternoon, back in time for a shower and dinner at one of the local restaurants. Equally the suites have a pool, sun loungers and bar if you want to stay onsite. Stella and Nina are great hosts. Our rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels and bedding and the water was always hot for a shower. I didn’t know what to expect from Crete as I had never visited before but we will definitely be back 🥰

We've recently returned from our 3rd stay at Koutrakis Suites having already booked our 4th! Stella, Mina and family are the consummate hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are spotless, food and drink at the bar are great and the location is spot-on. I would recommend a jaunt on the Happy Train as a way of seeing more of the area. Can't wait to go back next year 😀

Just got home after our 3rd visit, I could not speak more highly of our hosts Stella and Mina. They always have the best interests of their guests and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are spacious and always spotless, the beds are comfortable and sleep comes easily after days spent relaxing by the pool or exploring the island. We have already booked for next year and we were not the only guests to do so.
