Melia Hotels in Sitges

We visited in July which is a peak time for Sitges and although the MiM was not cheap (we paid around GBP180 per night) mediocre three star hotels were still around the GBP140 per night mark. We felt we got good value for the price we paid during a peak time. Location was great, on the main promenade. We stayed four nights and were in the entry level category of room. The room itself was clean and modern although I would have liked to see some USB ports or multi-plug adaptors. There was an espresso machine in the room although the pod consumption is unnecessarily complicated. I'd read other reviews on here about pods being charged once the ones provided are used. Which isn't uncommon. However, i'd assumed the 'chargeable' pods would have to be requested from reception or located within the minibar chargeable items. But no, they are located with the other tea, coffee, milk and sugar. I would have also liked to see a trash bin for recycling in the room. Staff were all super friendly and helpful and all had a great level of english and knowledge of the local area. The rooftop pool area is very small and the bar looked well attended. We had dinner at the restaurant on the rooftop one evening and it was very nice. We had breakfast included in the daily rate and it was OK. Definitely more a continental style with a fairly limited selection of hot items which often took a long time to be refilled once depleted. The hotel also has a small gym which had everything needed. A highlight for us was the spa in the basement complete with indoor pool, saunas, steam rooms, ice plunge pool, relaxation areas. Note, this is chargeable unless you book direct via the hotel (which we did). I'd definitely return.

The hotel is huge... So it takes me quite a while walking to reception, but I do love the restaurant and the bar. And room service there was excellent. It would be perfect if the Wi-Fi signals could be better. Overall I would love to have another stay in this hotel.

Located on the stunning seaside promenade of Sitges, you cannot find a better property on the strip than this one. Stunning views of the glittering Mediterranean sea from the room and balcony, easy access to all key points of interest, and a charming boutique feel. Couldn't have asked for more in this coastal retreat. LOCATION: Located in the center of the promenade, a stone’s throw away from the waves. DINE + DRINK: Nice lobby-level bar restaurant with a sweet terrace looking into the seafront. ROOM: We stayed in Room 524, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Mindblowing views of the Sea and the glittering water from the Balcony and the room; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage. The Terrac/Balcony was a super cool highlight of the room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: OK cosmetics. FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines, good enough for a decent workout. They also have a pool on site. SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. Special thanks to ESTHER from Front office for enhancing our stay. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free LOW-SPEED Wi-Fi(6 Mbps!) that works well all over the property. I Have so many happy memories of previous holidays at the Hotel El Cid,.But this visit , (the first since 2019 Pre Covid,) and i have to say i was really surprised at how old and dated it has started to look, and is now suffering more than a little faded glory.. The rooms are so good , well cleaned , great bathrooms , Huge Beds and mine (with a pool view is perfect), but sorry to say the main public areas are like an old distressed retirement home, I appreciate that the time spent there is not a main focus , BUT with the industry trying hard to recover from the past 2/3 years of covid i hoped there would be some nice improvements , there's so much wasted opportunity here to offer a better experience, but i was informed that any major improvements would mean potential to the group to pay mores taxes, but somewhere in the future they surely MUST do some redecorating and pool improvements just to maintain standards, the pool is also very worn now, come on The Cid , don't loose your returning customers.. i appreciate its rated 1 star but some TLC will go a long way ....

After a few days in Barcelona, I was looking for a hotel by the beach in Sitges. Came across this hotel on TripAdvisor and after doing my research I booked a beach view room. When I got to my room, what a pleasant surprise to see the nice decor and that view from my balcony. It isn’t a new hotel but it only showed a little in the washroom, bottom of door and trims. If you are thinking about booking this hotel, add a little more to and get the beach view. Well worth it.

This is our fourth visit over a period of 10 years Post Covid things are a little different but still a fantastic hotel wonderfully comfortable rooms, we booked a family suite large double bed plus a twin room, kitchen and bathroom and great sea facing balcony very family friendly, the staff are stretched due to lack of numbers but working incredibly hard… a shout out to the Michaela in the Terrace restaurant where they serve the most divine steak on a stone, the lovely ladies working at breakfast who really are stretched but doing a marvellous job and the hotel manager who is a charming chap! And the guys on reception Supermarket beneath the hotel, a games room, Indoor pool and outdoor pool, free bikes what’s not yo Like?!! We will be back - we love it!

This is the second time I have stayed with hotel Platjador and I have to say will probably be my last which I’m really really sad to say! On the positive notes, the staff are excellent! Reception staff are just utterly wonderful and friendly and in fairness did try to help me with the issues I’ll go on to. The negative is mainly the room… I was placed in room 201 which was advertised as a ‘basic’ room for 5 nights. Based on the room I had been given when I visited in June, I was too worried, however I was wrong and should of been worried. The room: Telly didn’t work 1 light was out 1 light kept flickering 2 lights had no switch so we’re on while you slept and throughout the day (if you had your keycard in the amenities box) Blood on bathroom ceiling Mould behind the air con unit Lamp hanging from the wall Tiny bathroom I went to reception to ask them if I could move rooms and they did all they could but were full, which whilst annoying I had no option but too except. I am lodging a formal complaint as I paid £800 for these 5 nights and the room (as you will see from the pictures). In summary, don’t stay in a ‘basic’ room it’s terrible!! The other rooms in my opinion are ok.

Spent a week in this hotel 14-21 July. It has good points and not so good points. The things a that are not so good- The rooms are comfortable enough but tired and some of it would be easy to sort out by redecorating. There is also a lack of attention to detail. The bathroom door opened in and had a door stop to prevent the door hitting the toilet, but the rubber was missing; I lost count of the times a stood on the piece of mental on the floor. The tv remote didn’t work. The small kitchen area had no clothes to wash or dryer dishes and no washing up liquid. The room safe did work and maintenance had to come to fix it. The lift didn’t work for the first 3 days. That said I spend very little time in the room so these were not major issues. The good stuff- all the balconies have great views of the marina. The pool is 25 metres and very nice. Beds were comfortable and the bedding clean, good air con in the rooms. There’s a carrefour supermarket about 8-10 minutes walk away so easy enough to get supplies. Although there is a steep set of steps to get from the marina to the street above it if your on foot. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the start of the town. There are 2 small beaches next to the hotel ( these are optional nudist beaches) and another bigger beach the other end of the harbour . Would I stay here again?- for the money probably yes, although a makeover would make returning more attractive.
