From the moment we had to wait for staff to turn up to check us in (20 mins) later and after i had to make a phone call , we got our keys. Well NoTowels No Quilt for bed, No milk, Dirty cups, the Bin was still full of Rubbish,absolutely disgusting.
Went down to Reception to find no one about.I sent a message to let someone know, reply was sorry someone will be with you soon.Everything was put right.
We decided to go out but when we came back we found the fiŕe alarm was going off
and people stood outside.I went inside the hotel to look for a member of staff but to my amazement no one was there and this is when all of the guest found out that nobody stayed onsite overnite at all, WHAT !!!
We as paying guests then had to get intouch with who we thought was owner, only to be told someone would be with us in 30mins.
We then had to ring 999 for Emergency service and told them about the alarm and that no management were on site to check the building or turn the alarm off.
£50 Damages was charged upon arrival not mentioned when booking, i think they should be giving all the guests a £50 compensation back for the stress caused and a full refund for all the inconvenience caused and unsatisfactory state of property. Beautiful views from balcony though. Don't stay at THE GRAND HOTEL SKEGNESS.
