We stayed at the Wharton Arms whilst walking the Cleveland Way. Extremely friendly new owner and staff, who were cheerful, accommodating and helpful. Room was very comfortable and great value for money with the room and breakfast costing £75 for the two of us. We had our evening meal there too and the food was delicious, a proper home cooked meal, which again, was excellent value for money and very generous in size! Needs a little modernisation i would say, but perfectly acceptable and provided everything we wanted..including service with big smiles! Would recommend if you're staying in the area.

We called in just in the off chance as driving past, we both had Sunday lunches, one regular and one large, chicken and beef/chicken. Wow they were both delicious and super tasty! Infact too much we asked to take it home. Meat was delicious and cooked to perfection, great choice of home cooked veg and again all very tasty, gravy very very nice. Will be trying again soon… Would highly recommend this for Sunday lunch, very reasonably priced for the quality and amount you get.

Lovely clean room, fabulous full english breakfast or actually a choice of your own. The chef was lovely and chatty as were the owner and his staff. Couldn’t do enough for us. The bar and lounge/dining room were popular. We have been there before and will certainly stay there again, soon. Lots of parking Located near a bus stop and shops on the high street

Excellent Sunday roast served piping hot with freshly cooked vegetables including mash, roast potatoes, turnip, cabbage,peas, carrots, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding with a big bowl of gravy. Service was quick and friendly. Kids Sunday lunch was only £6 and was a very generous portion.

First week doing food, the chef and staff coped absolutely fantasticaly, we had parmo and hunters chicken both fantastic, the coleslaw was really nice. lovely pub grub, lovely and fresh, homemade, good prices and great service!

We stayed as a family of 5 in the family room which had 2 double beds. Really friendly staff, cracking breakfast which was included in the price. Catered for the kids well also, they had cereal as well as a cooked breakfast of their choice. We were provided with a clean travel cot for our 2 year old. Beds were really comfy and superb pillows. Really clean room with a lovely nautical theme. Will definitely return if we are in the area again.
