Aegean Suites, Santikos Collection

A very charming, small hotel in a wonderful location - right next to the beach at Megali Ammos. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. The food and drinks were a great standard. The hotel itself is pretty but in our opinion needs some work: it’s dated. The suites / rooms are palatial but the soft furnishings need an upgrade - one of our blinds was broken and remained closed for our stay. The curtains were musty. The room was also damp and there was a constant musty odour in our bedroom. Drainage in the shower was not good. The pool area is lovely and subbed super comfortable. With a few upgrades, this hotel could be brought up to scratch and as I mentioned previously everything else was to a great standard. Thank you.

Firstly, I cannot say a bad word about any of the staff. All of them were very friendly, helpful and professional. The lower rating is due to the fact that for €450 per night I would expect nothing less than perfection. As others have said, the hotel has amazing views from the higher floors, and I believe this is their justification for the room rate. What I don’t expect is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom to be warming the room up, a broken toilet seat that repeatedly broke (we ended up fixing it ourselves in the end) wiring to the hairdryer in the bathroom that was exposed and downright dangerous, an old, stained plastic kettle that sounded like a rocket taking off, thin, ragged curtains that don’t block the sunlight out and uncomfortable mesh chairs on the balcony with no cushions. None of this presents a luxurious experience, In my opinion all of the rooms should have an iron and ironing board. We had to message reception to get one brought to the room and a poor maid had to struggle up the endless steps to bring it. When I plugged it in the wire was hot and again seemed dangerous! The room was clean and we had fresh towels every day, however the rooms need money spending on them to bring them up to date, especially the bathrooms. Getting a sunbed is a bit hit and miss, there aren’t enough for all of the guests, so it depends if people are out or on the beach. In my opinion this hotel needs to offer more than just the views for the price point.

A really lovely hotel! We have just returned from a week here and can honestly say that the staff are the most welcoming and accommodating that we've ever experienced anywhere. All of the staff did a wonderful job at providing a personalised service whilst remaining professional and respecting our time and space. The hotel itself is very well presented and in an ideal location with super sea views. It was great to watch the boats going in and out from the very comfortable sun loungers. Our suite was lovely with a great terrace area and garden and sea views. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided. We made use of the sister hotel a couple of times which was great as a transfer service is provided and you are able to use the sun loungers situated on the beach - very clear water. A highlight of our stay was definitely breakfast. Myroniki led the team so well and together with Angelo and Kostas they work tirelessly to ensure that everyone has everything they would like - all with a smile! The choice for breakfast was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed this each morning. We also ate from the snack/pool menu as well as some evening meals. All of the hotel food was beautifully presented and truly delicious. A huge thank you to all of the hotel team. We hope to return some day!

It was a lovely hotel all the staff were lovely really helpful and couldnt do enough. . Breakfast was good made better by Dimitrious serving us. As we were all inclusive we tried most of the meals over the week they were all delicious. My husband wasn't keen on the seafood risotto but that's his preference. The location is great 15 minutes to skiathos town or catch the bus( if you can get on it) very busy. Our room was lovely with a jacuzzi. It has only 22 rooms so felt it was a really friendly hotel we met some lovely people staying there. Just be aware dependent on what room you are in there are lots of steps to climb, in the heat it can be tiring. Skiatos is Beautiful

Great week in Skiathos and the Aegean was ideal for our stay. Really pleased with location - the beach bars and restaurants were fab and we wouldn’t have discovered if staying in town. Whilst highlighted a 20 min walk into town - I would get a taxi €10 or the bus! Rooms are slightly dated - take your own hair dryer - but view was stunning and worth the steps to the 2nd floor. If you aren’t the fittest would make sure you are on the lower floor as it’s a lot of steps! Didn’t really struggle for a sun bed and bar staff very friendly. Dimitiros smashs breakfast and remember our individual quirks (plus was very polite when I smashed a plate!!) Gluten free options available but bread wasn’t the best. Timothoe on reception gave us some brilliant local restaurant tips! Ludojiv the porter - what a hero getting our bags up and down to our room - thank you! Highly recommend visiting the sister hotel Princess - shuttle available - lovely beach and nice little village to visit - thank you to the Aegean hotel manager for the lift!

My wife and I stayed the last week of June, we had wonderful and relaxing time. Everything was pristine, and the staff were very friendly, a special mention for Dimitris and Niki who were always attentive and helpful. Many thanks John and Melissa
