The Hare and Hounds

It is a little gem, friendly people, excellent staff, comfortable rooms and great food. What more could you ask for. I’ve stayed here nearly every week for the past couple of months. I feel like part of the furniture. Couldn’t say a bad word about the place. Food is the best there is around there, with the latest “Craig’s pot luck” menu item a real treat and a refreshing change. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent venue, staff wonderful and helpful. Food beautiful steak melt in your mouth. Rooms had everything required for comfortable stay. Definitely a place to return to, nothing was too much trouble well done!! 👍

This pub-with-rooms was so good that my husband had stayed here for business several times and then booked a room for us en-route to our holiday a few weeks later. He's literally never done that before out of all the places he's stayed at for work, so I knew that I must be in for a treat... and I was. Our room was lovely, very nicely decorated, with hints of a hare and hounds theme without going over the top. The beer in the bar was well-kept and there was a good range, and the wine list was very varied and good value. Food was excellent, well-prepared and helpings were substantial - I particularly recommend the pie. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely stay here again.

Always loved this place but what is it about cooking vegetables so they're still hard ? I don't want over-cooked veg but also don't want cauliflower you can't get your knife through ! Please chef - cook the veg as the customer has asked, NOT raw as they were last time we came.

Booked a room for me and my son as he was kart racing win weekend. Very friendly staff , room very clean. Dinner was excellent. They kindly have us a breakfast bag as we were leaving early before breakfast is served. Team could not do enough to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you We ll definitely come again.
