Hotels Near Burnham in Slough

This is not the level of hotel that Mrs Moose and I would typically stay in - certainly more grand for us. We had a Buyagift voucher which was due to expire and given that there were places we wanted to visit in the area, we booked a dnner, bed & breakfast break. It's an impressive building when you arrive - I was surprised by the reception area - no desk as such, but a table with a monitor - however, it served its purpose. Given that this was a smarter place than usual for us, the general atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. My only comment would be our interaction with reception when we checked in and checked out - it was totally ok, but came across as very officious - no personal engagement, no 'Did you have a nice stay' - that sort of thing. We checked in during the afternoon and relaxed in the sunshine in the garden - all very pleasant and relaxed. There was an outdoor pool, but it is very small - don't expect to swim any lengths - but pleasant to sit in and cool off. Our deal came with a three course meal, and I must say that the food was very tasty - Mrs Moose really enjoyed her sea bream. The waitress was lovely, but one thing was strange that we were offered water, but no drinks - yes, we could have asked, but we were both happy with the water (though it was an expensive bottle of water!). Our room was on the small side, but acceptable with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fine, all table service, for both the hot and cold choices. If you like a smart hotel with good food and price isn't a concern, you will probably enjoy it here.

Could and should be nice. Great location…….comfortable bed with good linen. However, the scruffy and untidy front and rear means most people would walk past, just an unattractive proposition. The scruffy paintwork outside, and in the room, may be considered a little heavy duty maintenance but the very rusty toilet roll dispenser, 3 mismatched hangars in the wardrobe and delaminating shelf (the only one in the room!) are all low cost, easy items that should have been picked up some time ago. We didn’t stay for breakfast as the kitchen is open to view from the bottom of the stairs and it didn’t fill us with confidence or comfort. No drawer or shelf storage…….so those 3 random hangars were more significant. Shame………

Maidenhead Travelodge is value for money. The rooms on the 5th floor were well maintained, clean and had comfy beds. What made our stay so good was the high level of friendly customer service at reception. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Only draw back is there is a bit of noise until 11 pm when the neighbouring pub closes- but after that it is a good nights rest. The double glazed windows and block out blinds also help for a good rest.

The Hotel is perfectly situated for visiting Windsor Castle and a very short walk to Windsor Royal Theatre. My husband and I have stayed at the hotel numerous times. This time we stayed as we went to see a show at the theatre, Darker Shores, which was incredible. The staff at the hotel were polite and well presented and the breakfast more than satisfactory. The room was clean and comfortable and we slept well. It is our go to Hotel in Windsor and hope to stay again soon. Thank you to John Willcock for arranging the room for us and for leaving a handwritten welcome with complimentary chocolates and water. We had a wonderful stay!

Sixteen of us arrived a couple of weeks ago as part of a wedding party, check in was smooth, a very special mention to ”Grace” on reception a very friendly person that went out of her way in every way for us, always had a smile for everyone A few people mentioned the breakfast being below standard, small plates etc. the plates might have been a bit small, but it did not stop anyone going back up again for a second helping basic yes but plenty of hot and cold food, delicious coffee from a dispenser Not sure if it was us or what? but they ran out of Stella and Becks and were never replenished for the following day pity really as there wasn't much choice of beers Our room was basic with a very comfortable bed with fresh sheets and a nice bathroom with a nice size walk in shower, cleaners do a good job no complaints there Overall, not too bad just basic

The Pinewood Hotel is a housing estate waiting to happen. From staff lacking in the most basic of customer service skills to a cute rat routing about under the fake Christmas tree pinned in the flower bed outside the entrance. This hotel was almost empty on one of the busiest weekends of the year for the king's concert. They couldn't find our booking and refused to acknowledge the paid-for email from booking.com. They made no attempt whatsoever to help whilst I spent an hour on the phone trying to get it sorted. But as they had hiked sub £80 pricing most of the year to £300 plus, their revenue-raising exercise backfired big time. During my time getting increasingly annoyed at the absolute lack of any attempt at customer service, I got to see the poorly mended ceiling from upstairs leaks, the dated decor, and the cracked flooring tiles in the main reception. As well as filthy signs on the windows at the main entrance. The lift is obviously expected to be out of use for some time as they had turned it into a feature with a light-up unit in front stopping you from getting in. That was if you got past the empty car park with a huge hole surrounded by metal barriers, cracked containers for dying plants, and the delivery driver bringing food to the sole inhabitant we saw. The 70s pub-style dining area was totally empty, and the outside area overlooking a lovely meadow area was shabby and despite sunshine - absolutely devoid of any guests.. The welcome was marred by a pervading smell of cooking oil and as you walk from the car park to the entrance, a window at the back of the reception area has an unusual way of blocking people from seeing in with a collection of tesco carrier bags instead of a curtain. Pictures on various sites are of an era long gone - add appalling service and you can do much better elsewhere. I would be surprised if it lasts much longer as a hotel. This hotel clearly doesn't want guests and will make a great housing development for anyone looking at developing in that area. It has a fabulous selection of wildlife, from various colourful birds making nests, to furry creatures running around outside the entrance, so it would be a beautiful spot for a development. Having read some of the other reviews saying ”filthy” ”easy to get away from” ”tired” ”drinks terribly expensive” ”electrical testing 4 year's out of date” ”outside door propped open all night” ”practically falling apart” - I guess we got away lightly. What it isn't is - their description: A 4* hotel (REALLY?) Luxurious setting (I TOTALLY DISAGREE stained reception ceiling badly mended with no luxury at all) in a tranquil location (Yes agreed) Designed with elegant interiors and a unique approach (maybe once upon a time but not now) Just off the A412 ( erm just on the A412) The Brasserie provides an informal dining experience (looks like a 70s cafe and guests ordered takeaway) Free car parking (yep lots of it was almost empty and more space was taken by a huge

Following a 5 hour drive, that took 10 hours I was glad to have booked here. I have a disability and need to book an accessible room. The Ibis Beaconsfield did not disappoint. I requested extra pillows as I am unable to sleep without. The pillows were excellent, just the right firmness . The room was spotless as was the en suite, the accessible shower was almost identical to the one I use at home, with a stable shower seat attached to the wall and well installed (folding) hand rails. The staff were most helpful and polite. The crowning glory for me was the huge choice of breakfast offerings next door; everything from McDonalds through to Wetherspoons! My wife and I were able to each select a favorite food, but still eat together. The only ”downer” for me is the lack of tea making facilities in the room, which I do understand. My solution is now always to fill a flask in the evening before going to bed! This was, in fact, our second stay there, it is very unlikely to gave been our last. Thanks!

Amazing experience, in the triple room with the family. Felt right at home with all the care and extended benefits for accomodation of our needs. Really loved the room, location and bit away from the airport. However, really loved the beautiful rooms and almost everything you need right in its place.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst on a course, the hotel is very comfortable and decorated well. The room had a good bed, good size TV and walk in shower. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were professional and friendly. The pool and spa looked amazing, only negative was the temperature of the steam room and sauna was so high it takes your face off, too uncomfortable to stay in for more than 1 minute,

Breakfast should have been served until 10 am. We got into the restaurant 9.15 and there was hardly anything left, One spoonful of scrambled egg which I had to gather from around the pan for my husband - none for me, no bacon, no sausage, no hash brown or tomato. They did have beans!! Having asked and waited, we got a bit of bacon and some sausages that were so hard we could hardly cut them!! Then , at 10am they asked us to leave the room because they had to get it ready for something else. Our bedroom was ok but there was a skylight in the roof and the sun came flooding in just after 4 am so I didn’t sleep. Waste of time having black out curtains at the window when you don’t cover the skylight. The teaspoons on the dressing table had not been washed. The shower was nice but the water came out all over the floor - our friends had the same in their room. All in all not a good experience and I wouldn’t stay there again. I did mention all of this to the reception guy but he just smiled at me. Not sure if he spoke English!
