We chose the, hotel because of its location. But the hotel itself was a high point. Excellent staff, outstanding meals, etc. All you could ask!

What a joy to stay in this lovely hotel. The staff were all immensely friendly and could not do enough for you. Beds were excellent and comfy. Breakfast had an excellent selection of hot and cold food. The waiter remembered that along side coffee in the morning we would need a small amount of milk without having to be reminded. The restaurant had a small but delicious menu in the evening and on the day that it was closed they made a reservation for an equally excellent place. If visiting the area again I would definitely stay there and heartily recommended it anyone

The Service at the Grand Hotel was just impeccable. Such nice people, hosting with humour and class that it made the meal a meal to remember. The food was top class - cooked to perfection and presented in a classy manner - interesting and bold choices on the menu made the meal memorable. The Sommelier was great - knowledgable and guided us to local wines he was proud to recommend (Chinon as it happened). The Maitre D was just the nicest man - arranging for one if his staff to drive us home in her tiny car two by two as she couldn’t fit us all in when the local taxi company couldn’t pick us up - just above and beyond and stunning hosting.

A perfect small hotel with delightful rooms, beautiful cuisine, friendly staff and a delightful location. Enjoy the peace and quiet and pleasant strolls alongside the river Sarthe. Dogs are welcome too.

Très très bon accueil, avec beaucoup d’humour, très bel hôtel, chambre PMR spacieuse, très propre, petit déjeuner de qualité le tout avec des prix corrects. Cadre très sympathique, se trouvant devant une très belle abbaye dans un petit village, typique et très joli. Je recommence fortement
