Prices are not accurate and distance from amenities is crazy. We are staying in “The Estates” and we might as well be in another country. Would not recommend…pick an all inclusive and pay for upgrades and avoid this place! We chose to come with another couple and for our one vacation away from our little ones only to over pay for a beach club loaded with kids!

Karaoke hosted by Erick, Carlos, Nelly, and Rafa kept the flow going and everyone pumped! It was a blast and I wish it could’ve lasted all night. The best beach kareoke I have EVER gotten to take part in, definitely recommend getting out there to dance and sing along with everyone in the crowd.

Not the best not the worst. Be aware this property has 4 check in desks. The Grand Mayan the Mayan Palace the Grand Bliss and Grand Luxe . The Grand Mayan is probably the cheapest . It's where they put you when you win a charity auction trip through vacation clix. The place is huge There are five train routes .they do not tell you at check in to download the app with a Map and routes and they should ! When checking in do not speak with a host or stick around for your "free gift ". It's a discount card that you can only benefit from if you attend the "free breakfast " presentationto buy in . While here unplug your phone to the room They call all the time . Bring ear plugs the walls are paper thin. The biggest part of a low review. I could hear the man snoring in the room next to me . Its rediculous . Also being the furthest building away from the beach . Which is rocky . If you desire a nice beach do not come here . You can't swim here . That's why they have luxurious pools . They charge for room water and coffee . If you use them do not replace it . I had to call every day for coffee amd water Do NOT use tap water to make coffee it makes the coffee so bitterly awful . Also No microwave . Food here is pretty spendy. A Corona can beer is 109 pesos . They have two for one hotel drinks at happy hour 12-2 . Your daqueries and mojitos or blended items 350 pesos . The staff is super nice. The hotel is very clean . Pools are great . Keep all of your yellow copies of room charge . No cash property . All on the room and $1000 hold on your credit card at check in . Ask them to remove the donation charge at check out . There is a resort fee of $150 plus environmental fee of 5 USD a day and some other fee . I read another review to check out in Pesos . Great advice! . Their goal is to sell Vida timeshares to vidante . The Grand bliss looks nice with its private pool but I hear the rooms have no view. The food is really good except the lobster rolls and Japanese crab rolls. I would go the all inclusive route at a hotel with a better beach like Sandos properties . The spa Brio is average . Don't upgrade the pedicure or the massage . They also try to upsell you in the service as well. There is another spa called Spatima but I didn't get to check that out. Also it took over an hour from arriving to get to my room . Another 35 for my luggage . Download the app- Vidante It shows everything since the resort is paperless from menus to maps . Take the shuttle for 110 pesos or 7 USD to Playa Del Carmen , it stops at the Mega store . Beer juice soda and water are worth the trip .

The Good: Jair (our amazing bartender at Salum); the jungle; the wildlife; the pools; the grounds; the security; the bed; the gym; friendly staff; good location not too far from Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Akumal, and Tulum. The Not So Good: With beachfront location, not a single room with an ocean view. With so many restaurants from which to choose, only 1 place open for breakfast and 1 place open for lunch; and 1 location open for dinner; limited menu choices at dinner. Cold items at breakfast buffet. Staff on campus lacked knowledge as to what was open; juice bar at gym was closed; less than courtesy cashier at market; pressure to attend a sales presentation which required a $20 hold table fee (we declined to attend); inaccurate signs on jungle paths; Disney World vibe with having to use trams to get to front lobby (we walked most places); pushy/rude vendors on the one night they were present to sell local items; they need fans to circulate air on hot nights at the Salum restaurant area as it was stifling.

Lucila was an amazing driver within the resort. She always had a smile and was willing to go the extra mile answering our questions. She was so friendly and willing to help. She has been one of the nicest staff member we have met during our stay at Vidanta. It is lovely to see a familiar friendly face every day!

The Vidanta Gran Mayan, Hotel had some very impressive amenities, and the grounds and jungle experience were amazing. First, the highlights, the people, and the staff at Vidanta were exceptional. The service was fantastic at most of the restaurants. Our room was cleaned daily, and housekeeping was fantastic. The room was the smallest of the selections and had a small refrigerator and a coffee pot. The fitness room was very nice and good amount of cardio and strength equipment. All of the bathrooms in the pool and restaurant areas were clean and well-maintained and air-conditioned, The lowlights- This is not an all-inclusive resort and the food prices can be pricey. The Salum area has a good atmosphere but is very open with little to no air conditioning and can be very uncomfortable during summer months with high humidity and no breeze. There is a lot of walking or waiting for shuttles both can be hot and uncomfortable. Several restaurants were closed. Larger Pool areas need more shade. I knew better but I agreed to the timeshare presentation, the presentation is painful and the second closer guy is very pushy. Pink shirt guy with braces. Watch out! We did the cenote excursion and Henry with Adventure Tours was a fantastic tour guide! History, culture, and environmental knowledge were incredible!!! Manny

Lucila Batista was an amazing driver. Very attentive and easy to communicate with. We had some other experiences that were confusing and not very fun. I guess I need at least 200 characters, so I’ll write that. And this. And that. And this and that.
