Premier Inn Solihull South (M42)

Very warm welcome and everything as it should be. Swift service both at the hotel and Beefeater next door. Good location for motorway but it’s not in Solihull- it’s in Shirley which is a distance from Solihull itself. No problem to us though.

Overall it felt very run down. The carpets were dirty and there was a smell as you walked up the stairs. Lots of dust in the room. Bed clean and comfy which was a bonus. Food was ok but service could have been better. Ordered steak with peppercorn sauce and offered gravy.. waitress did not seem to know what the difference was!

This Premier Inn is a bit tired; worn carpets, dated decor, desk chair coming apart, no working bathroom extractor in my room (126). However, the bed is fine, the location quiet, and the TV is super. The staff are excellent, thanks especially to Debbie, really made me feel welcome and then served in the restaurant twice - awesome. The food is really what makes this place special. The care taken in presentation and quality is punching way above any expectations I had. Both my meals and breakfasts were brilliant. If I’m ever back in Solihull, I’m booking a room. Thanks.

Debbs & Ricky are first class made to feel welcome from the off, was given a phone charger and told to take my time, no rush…would definitely come bk after the great reception I recieved, I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone thinking of visiting, once again Thankyou to All the Team, Best Regards, Dan

The worst ive known, had shower the place smelt damp in need of decoration. On getting out of shower only 1 towel which had black fluff on it along with 2 skid marks, took this towel to reception no apology just a new towel asked if the room had actually been cleaned, yes she said just hasnt been checked. My view is the room hadnt been cleaned, no room change or apology. Horrendous stay as didnt get in duvet as think someone else had slept in there, didnt get a lenny henry seal of sleep guarantee. Would never go back
