Royal Son Bou Family Club

We had the best 7 days here end of September going into October. All the other reviews reflect it too, main thing being how great it is for young families, the entertainment, kiko land and the staff- all of them who go out of their way to be so friendly and helpful to everyone. The staff at kiko land are amazing and really is heaven for kids! we were on a big family holiday 11 of us 5 children age ranging 2-7, it was my sons birthday also while we were there and the restaurant made lovely cake and made it special. The hotel itself is so clean, the maids work so hard and rooms were cleaned daily. Two restaurants both nice food and didnt feel overcrowded like normally all inclusive does. there wasnt always a huge choice i found but always nice and something for our fussy eaters, snacks available at one restaurant throughout the day if you didnt want to anything big. amazing drinks available on all inclusive- my favourite aperol spritz even proper icecream all day. We had a twobedroom apartment which was very spacious overlooking the pool which was perfect, 5 minute walk to beach. The little town is very quiet with a few shops at restaurant but that suited us- 20’minutee easy transfer from airport and very quick check in. The pool is big and clean and baby pool perfect for the kids! Would love to return one day! thank you royal son bou!

Had a week here with our 9 month old baby end of Sept, overall a good time! Rooms were good if a little dated, the cleaners are exceptional! Food and drink all lovely, fantastic bar staff! We dropped into the baby club on a few occasions which was good for baby to play with some different toys and all the kids there seemed to be loving it - would definitely feel comfortable leaving older kids, confident they’d have fun and be in safe hands. The pools were absolutely freezing, kids pool better than main pool but still very cold - not ideal for very young children and it did put me off spending too much time in them. The entertainment in the evening started with the kids disco at 8pm which is a bit late for young ones, 7 would of been better for us personally. Probably wouldn’t rush back although the hotel itself is lovely I think for the same price you can get somewhere with more modern rooms & heated pools!!!

We've just returned from a fantastic stay at Royal Son Bou Family Club. It really is aimed at families with plenty to do for all ages. The hotel completely understands what is important for families and caters for them brilliantly. The pool is huge and never feels crowded, it feels clean and warm and there are always sunbeds available although not always in the best spot unless you manage to set up camp by 10am. We were very impressed with the food, the best all inclusive food we've ever had. From bespoke pasta made how you want it to themed nights and always a tasty paella available. It was honestly delicious and all the wait staff are incredible at replenishing as soon as something runs out. I highly recommend downloading the Son Bou app to keep an eye on the different themes at each restaurant as well as all of the activities. There were so many activities on throughout the day but none of the staff were in your face putting pressure on you to join in but welcomed you if you wanted to partake. All the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have what you want and need. The rooms are a little dated in decor but very comfortable and clean. The entire hotel felt clean which is important to us. The only reason we haven't given it 5 stars is because of the flies in La Basilica restaurant and around the pool. They were very annoying especially when you're trying to eat and not pleasant seeing them on the food. If the hotel could put some fly control in place, it would be a great improvement. The evening entertainment is fantastic, we saw some great shows and everything is wrapped up by 11pm which is perfect for younger families. The animation team are amazing and we loved their energy. We had so much fun joining in with Aqua Dance and Aqua gym, water basket and water carpet. Our son is disabled and the staff were very atuned to this without us needing to say anything, they ensured he was included which was greatly appreciated. The grounds are so well kept and beautiful. Testament to all the staff who work very hard with a smile on their face. We will return!

Loved this hotel in beautiful Menorca. Really clean everywhere, 2 lovely pools. It was hard to tear our children away from the main pool! The food was varied, fresh and a great choice every day. We stayed half board. The apartments were spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and really good activities for children including a short pony ride and trip to Trogloland. It was in the school summer holidays but rarely felt really crowded. Liked that guests were from a range of nationalities. Loved this hotel and loved Menorca. I went for a short walk along the beach a few mornings just after sunrise. Stunning. Also, Son Bou is a lovely small resort with a few restaurants etc. When can we go back?!

I stayed here with my 3 young children end July to early Aug 2024 for 7 nights. It is the best hotel I have stayed at for my children,they loved every moment. The location is great ,nice quiet spot in the small town. There is everything you need within 5 minutes walk . Some good restaurants if you want to eat out of the hotel, 2 very good supermarkets and a few bars if you wanted to go .The lovely beach is very close by too . The hotel is a super property with very spacious rooms , well equipped with families in mind .Rooms were very clean and serviced daily . We stayed in Block A 3 12 ,so convenient to get to the pool and bar areas etc. and run back to room as needed .Thank you booking team for helping with this request . I believe the hotel was full when we stayed but it never seemed over crowded . Only in the evening time when it was kids entertainment the tables would all fill up quickly but we were enjoying late dinners so it wasn't a big issue for us .What we saw of the entertainment seemed good and was varied every evening . All the staff including the animation team were superb,very friendly and helpful in every way.They made everyone feel very welcome .There are 2 games room which kept the children happy and the Royal room opened in the evenings had free pool , table tennis ,darts and play stations etc all of which my 3 loved too. The main swimming pool is very child friendly and warm .My kids spent almost every day there as there were so many fun activities for them to join in .There is a smaller pool near Kikoland (the kids club )with slides and a big boat where younger kids can have hours of fun too. Plenty of things to do in Kikoland but as it was hot weather my children were happiest in the 2 pools. However they did do the pony ride which was about 5 mins but they loved it , great memories. There are 2 buffet restaurants on site Los Olivios was closest to our apartment and Basilico near Kikoland, (this is the quieter restaurant.) The food was great in both with an abundance of choice and quantity ,and with themed live cooking nights we never got bored and always left satisfied. I chose H.B. so you pay for drinks with your meal but prices are reasonable. We had lunches in the local restaurants across the road from hotel ..Casa Andres and Allesandros were our go to choices ..both had decent kids menus too. Overall this is a great choice for families with young children and given the opportunity I would love to visit again soon, highly recommended .

What started out as a 7 day trip to Royal Son Bou for my family, had to be extended to 10 days as unfortunately my husband injured his back and we were unable to fly home as planned. I cannot begin to thank Royal Son Bou enough for their kindness and help during this time. They were able to extend our stay very easily and move us into a new apartment, they helped us with any luggage we had and made sure to call us to check if there was anything else they could do for us. We are also very grateful to the on site medic who helped my husband. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy our trip and fully make use of all the amenities Royal Son Bou offers. Some general points for anyone thinking of booking: It is a paradise for kids, so much for them to do : Kiko land, the pools, the games room, the shows etc. The entire place caters for children in such a thoughtful way. The food was great. We went all inclusive which was perfect for our family. It was easy and full of choice. Our personal preference for dinner was La Basilica as it was a bit less busy. I loved the pasta bar which had fresh pasta made to order each night. For lunches, we enjoyed making use of the takeaway boxes and either eating by the pool or in our room. There seemed to be an abundance of nice looking restaurants and bars in the local area for those not doing all inclusive. There are also multiple supermarkets very close by. The shows each night were fantastic. In our 10 night stay, we saw something different each night. The night starts with something more catered towards the kids and then there’s usually something more for the adults but our kids absolutely loved each show. The staff - I can’t say enough good things. I wish we could thank them all individually! Everyone went out of their way to say hello to our kids and make them feel important. They were so kind towards my husband and to me especially when I was frantically trying to rearrange our plans. The people at Kikoland are fab, how they manage to get to know each child and involve them in the activities during the day and then put on such great shows at night is beyond me! The apartments are lovely and clean. We stayed in D block which was nice and quiet and close to la Basilica, the kids pool and Kikoland which was perfect. I would say the photos don’t do the rooms justice. The beach is amazing. One of the nicest beaches I’ve been to. Crystal blue waters and lovely clean sand. It is quite rocky but that didn’t matter to us personally. The access to the beach from Royal Son Bou is very quick and easy. We have already decided we will be coming back next year. I would highly, highly recommend booking Royal Son Bou for a family holiday.
