This hotel is awful. It’s one of the worst I’ve seen. I have never arrived on holiday and not stayed. On this occasion we spent 1 hour trying to get a nicer room, then 4 hours finding another hotel. We checked out the hotel and made the right decision to leave. It was stressful at the time, but the right decision. The entrance is ok, a nice reception and easy check in. I’d requested a ground floor due to my health condition and had paid extra for a pool view. I’d seen nice photos on their website of pool side ground floor rooms which would have been perfect for me. But wow, you should have seen what we got. It was the smallest room tucked away, looking out on a pile of mud. The pool could just be seen through overgrown trees which darkened the room. The pool was green with Algae! We were so shocked. This is a 4 star melia! We stay all the time in melia hotels, this was no way their usual standard! I visited reception and the only alternative room they offered was one just as bad or one on the 2nd floor. I struggle with steps, the hotel knew this but failed to accommodate me (unless I wanted the dark and dingy room). We spent a few hours debating our options, during this time observed the following- -no sunbeds, but half of them being used as towel storage areas for greedy families. -really rammed pool area, absolutely awful - token service for the all inclusive drinks, just another way to make money out of you. - cold awful snack food. - rammed pool, just not enjoyable at all. - seriously the rooms are ridiculous, can’t swing a cat. With dirty curtains for wardrobe doors. - limited outdoor eating space. The restaurant was packed, we didn’t have to endure this, but it looked and sounded horrendous. - muddy areas around the pool. Just dirty. In a nutshell, melia let us down. They will let you down if you book, so just book other hotels in the area. We moved to a Grupotel down the road and it was amazing. Clean, massive rooms and top notch service. I leave honest reviews, this hotel is 3 star at best, if you like busy busy, cheap food, and on tap alcohol, then you will ok. But it’s not for anyone who wants a relaxing break, with a clean room and surrounding area. Luckily we only did 5 hours in there. Honestly- look else where.
