Beautiful place to stay. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was unexpectedly brilliant - 3 breakfasts in a row were consistently well cooked. I also recommend the Main Menu too. I definitely and highly recommend this place for both food, accommodation and location

Stayed for the night after spending the day at Arnside. A beautiful little place in an idyllic location, if you want a quiet little getaway. The building is full of character and history. Room was comfy and clean and they even provided earplugs in case the chiming of the church bells kept you awake. Food was excellent I had the Morecambe bay shrimps for starters and salmon for my main from the specials. This came with a delicious Asian slaw. My wife had the halloumi fries for starter followed by fish and chips. The breakfast the following morning was also freshly made and set us up nicely for the day. All the staff were welcoming and very professional throughout our brief stay. They even provided us with a map to help us in our quest to find the nearby fairy steps. Would definitely recommend either for a short stay or for food and will hopefully return.

Food was tasteless, overpriced and not well presented, no one came to ask if everything was okay apart from once at the very start which was before we had started eating, when I commented when paying about our negative experience the ladies attitude was rude and very dismissive, saying no one else has ever complained. We were a table of 9 and we all had issues with food. No we are not fussy but expect decent food for price

A very warm and welcoming pub, with great staff. Callum was very helpful as we ordered and we thought that the soup on the specials menu was really good!! I would strongly recommend going here. Great after a long walk in the area, too. Cosy pub, with a lovely atmosphere.

Stayed here for two nights 4th & 5th Sept whilst visiting the local RSPB reserve. Excellent location for this or for going further afield as very near to the A6. Very warm welcome upon arrival quick check in and shown to our room which is on the upper floor with stairs to negotiate but very easy. There are only 4 rooms available. Room 2 was nicely decorated with a sizable bathroom and large shower all of which was very clean. The view was pleasant looking out onto the 17th century church which was lit at night without any light disturbance into the room, the bells chime on the quarter hour but are not an issue at all as they are quiet but earplugs are provided if you are sensitive to noise. The only issue we had with the room was that the mattress was uncomfortable it felt like it was a sprung mattress and in need of change, I mentioned this to the staff on checkout but it did not spoil our stay. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening and I must say the food was excellent and very well presented so I would recommend trying. We ate breakfasts on both days which again were very good, ordered the day before by ticking a selection from a form left in the room so no waiting in the morning and it was freshly cooked so again I would recommend it. Overall our stay was very good and if not for the mattress I would have added the extra star to the rating.

Incredible food served by friendly and lovely staff. We were all -including 8 month old baby and 3 year old cocker spaniel warmly welcomed. Great roast and the brownie was divine. Thank you so much to Luke and Bella. We had a lovely walk through the deer park to get there and will come again soon!

Thanks for a very tasty meal last night, great to be able to find gluten free fish and chips and a vegan burger option that was a cut above standard pub fare. The Wheatsheaf is a really lovely pub and a big thank you Taya and Lucie for great service.

Popped in for a quick bite before our walk today. Didn’t have a reservation but the staff were lovely to seat us quickly with no waiting or fuss. Best chips I’ve ever had and Bella was so kind and welcoming and gave our pup loads of treats! Will be sure to come back soon
