This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in Australia. The washroom, toilets and kitchen are super clean. The bed is clean and comfortable. It's very quiet at night so you can get a really good sleep. They have extra blankets in the room in case you feel cold. The staff are very nice and cute. They let me check in when I came early at 8 am. It's only a few steps away from South Yarra station. I will definitely stay here again if I travel to Melbourne.

Could have done a little "homework" before I booked a room at this hotel. I wasn't aware that lifts were not available so I worried about carrying my luggage up and down the stairs. Having a reddish & swollen foot ankle, I was glad the staff were able to help me with it.
Although the single bedroom was small, I slept well at night. The only concern was that I had to use a shared bathroom, which required me to bring out my toiletries along with me. Overall, I was pleased with the hotel service. Thanks guys for making my stay a memorable one! 👍

Few steps to south yarra train station, and you also can find Chemistry warehouse at downstairs of this hotel.
Looks more like hostel or budget hotels. Anyway its great value for money during weekend stay at Melbourne.
Clean, booked and stayed at bunk bed room but need to share bathroom room with others.
Overall its a good budget hotel and with lots of dining options around, such as Chinese food, Thai food and 5 mins to Woolworth supermarket.
RECOMMEND TO STAY, IF YOU GO FOR A BUDGET OPTION.

Close to the subway station, easy to go out, close to the pedestrian street, many restaurants, and a large park nearby, suitable for travel. The hotel is clean and hygienic, the front desk is also very friendly, suitable for travel and living

Somehow my review was deleted. Too expensive for what deliver. Noise, corridors stink a vomit, too hot at Nov, too many sunlight at 7am. I arrived 3am my pre booking was ignored! Old man said to find somewhere else!

I stayed here just over four years ago. At that time, breakfast was included and my stay was very pleasant all round. This time around, breakfast was not included. A lovely staff member tactfully informed me when I tried to help myself on the first morning. Also, it would have been useful if staff had told me that a fridge, freezer and microwave had been available when I checked in. I also found the morning time restrictions to the so-called "Dining Area" a bit inconvenient with many school groups staying there, as well. Necessary, perhaps, for student safety but still not ideal. Overall, though, a comfortable bed and an especially friendly staff member made my stay "acceptable".

We had a great stay at the Claremont it is clean and simple exactly what you need on a quick little trip down to Melbourne so easy to get everywhere and staff are lovely. If we needed anything there was always someone at reception that could help us and they threw in a free breakfast highly recommend to stay here if you don’t like the glitz and Glam it’s a simple easy affordable accommodation.

While the reception staff are really friendly and helpful and the location is great, I was a bit dismayed that during the ten days I stayed there, not one time was my bed changed, room cleaned or even bin emptied. I was never offered clean towels or linen or checked in on in any way. This may be considered normal in a budget hotel but still seemed very odd. I ended up bagging up my own rubbish half way through and depositing it in a bin outside. There was a plastic straw on the floor as I walked in the first day and for some reason I left it there to see when the room would be cleaned. It was still there the day I left when I picked it up and put it with my own rubbish in the bin. Strange.
