I would have given an extra star if it wasn’t for the broken window in our room which needs fixing. It seems that it has come forward in its hinge and let’s in loud sounds at night resulting in a disturbed nights sleep. This seems a simple fix with a push from the outside to temporarily remedy the problem. Having said this, the house itself is not on a particularly busy road and there isn’t much through traffic at night, thankfully. All the rooms seemed really nice and clean, some rooms to the back of the property seemed more peaceful than ours. The accommodation has tea/coffee, kettles and sinks in bedrooms, and there are large communal bathrooms with walk in showers which are very convenient, but you need to remember to bring your toiletries as there is no shampoo in the bathrooms. The breakfast is toast, croissants, fruit and selections of cereals and breakfast bars. The breakfast room is light and accommodating and we really enjoyed sitting and having our breakfast in there. The guest house is in a prime location and very cosy, plus, it’s easy to come and go as you please. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we had a pleasant stay, thank you.

I have never stayed in a place like this. Firstly the room. Can I firstly add I did not book this myself another family member did. The bedding had a Musty smell coming from them and my pillowcases had stains I was actually too scared to look at the actual pillow but I can imagine it would not be fit for purpose as I could tell by the condition of the pillows that they were old. The bedroom heating was not on and the room was freezing why the heating was not on in February I have no idea !! The room did have a small oil filled radiator which was absolutely useless. I had to sit with my coat wrapped round me it was so cold. For £70 I would expect some heating. The bathroom down the hall was like a blast from a fridge when you walked in and no way you could have a shower in there and even if you did brave the cold there were no hooks, stools or shelves to place your clothes on so they would have to go on the floor. Keeping in mind the bathroom was shared with at least another 6 rooms if not more. Bedtime I wrapped my pillows in my blouse and jumper and wrapped myself round the thin quilt as no way I was getting under it. Breakfast next morning was just awful. The cereal I poured into my bowl had obviously been open for a while as they were soggy so they were left. The croissants on display had obviously been of the wrapped variety previously and opened and put on a plate also very dry and not edible. The fruit in a pudding bowl was just dried cut up fruit. We got toast which is all I ate. Honestly I’m not going to say anymore apart from please please do not stay here. There is a premier inn just 2 mins walk which I wish we had known about sooner. We only stayed one night but would never advise anyone to stay here just awful

We stayed at this place for 1 night before going on our cruise, in the morning we checked the bedding as my partner had bites on her leg, we found stains on all the sheets and mattress covers, one of the covers was actually the top of an old mattress cut off and put on the mattress, we do have pictures, we booked through *********** who we complained to but we had no result from them, I have had to tap 1 star but that is only because the other guests were nice people.

I stayed here solo as i was going to see a show at the Mayflower theatre. Easy to find, free parking. Lovely greeting, checking in was a breeze! Breakfast time and selection booked. And wi-fi code. Shown to Room 1 Double en-suite. Keys explained, 1 for room and 1 main door for ease of coming/going. Room lovely, bed a bit soft for me but double so fine. En-suite with shower. Tea & Coffee facilities. Tv and remote. Plenty of plugs for charger and straighteners (hairdryer in room) Breakfast at 8.30, Full English with toast, jam etc and coffee! Cereal, yoghurt and juice provided also. Great experience and would definitely stay here again if I needed to. Mayflower literally around the corner 5 mins away and walk in to city approx 15mins for all restaurants etc
