I stayed here solo as i was going to see a show at the Mayflower theatre. Easy to find, free parking. Lovely greeting, checking in was a breeze! Breakfast time and selection booked. And wi-fi code. Shown to Room 1 Double en-suite. Keys explained, 1 for room and 1 main door for ease of coming/going. Room lovely, bed a bit soft for me but double so fine. En-suite with shower. Tea & Coffee facilities. Tv and remote. Plenty of plugs for charger and straighteners (hairdryer in room) Breakfast at 8.30, Full English with toast, jam etc and coffee! Cereal, yoghurt and juice provided also. Great experience and would definitely stay here again if I needed to. The hotel was located near the coach station which was very convenient for us as we had to go there early in the morning. The front desk staff was helpful, professional, courteous, and welcoming. We received a smooth service until checkout. Highly commend them. The room and the bathroom were clean and the sheets and towels were also clean and fresh. Will be sure to book with them in the future.

My wife booked this via *********** for an overnight stay before we left for our cruise. On arrival we were greeted by a foreign lady who didn’t speak much English. We explained who we were and she went and got us a key but then said we had to pay an extra £20 for our young son. We asked why and she could not explain so asked us to call the owner as it was her instructions. We spoke with the lady who owned the place who was quite arrogant and again her English was not that good. She advised that she was boarding a flight in 15mins and we needed to pay £40 cash or leave. We explained it was only £20 so why was it now £40 she said as there was x3 people we had only booked for one person. We explained that we had accidentally booked the family room for one person but this was corrected and we had a confirmation email from ***********. She said they never updated her so we would have to contact them or pay up. We said we would call them as I was on the phone to *********** the lady who gave us the key came to the room and told us she was instructed to take the key back. Literally a few minutes after getting off the phone to the owner. We were then told to speak with the owner again who re-iterated we paid or left. We asked about the £100 we paid via *********** and she refused to refund this saying we had to contact them. We advised we would call the police as this appeared to be a scam. But she just said leave or pay. I then got onto *********** who confirmed the booking was made initially for three people but then amended and they would call the owner but she refused to answer. In the end we had a young child and we’re unlikely to find something else so we paid and stayed the night. The room was basic and clean and the beds were comfortable but there was loud music and a dog barking all night. On looking out the window there was gangs of people hanging around making us nervous as we had all our cases in the car parked outside. I would not recommend this place and it was such a downer to the start of our holiday. I have contacted Booking .com and have also noted similar practices with the owner doing this to other people. Book at your own peril!

We have stayed two nights and honestly it has been the best we have seen in our numerous visits to the UK. While the standards of an English hotel are not the Spanish ones, it is the closest thing to a hotel that we have seen. We had to ask for a hairdryer because it was broken and when we brought a new one they also gave us some gift chocolates for our inconvenience, quite a detail. It is a few minutes walk from the center, super central. If we return to Southampton we will definitely stay there again.

Very clean and pleasant little studio flat. Well designed with all you need for a short stay. The kitchen facilities are particularly ingenious. I received excellent service when I needed it. It is only a ten minute walk to the northern end of the city centre and only five minutes walk to some shops and pubs.

Was having a trip to see a gig at The Guildhall and location for the venue was absolutely perfect!! Multi-storey car park literally round the corner was great (cost £11 so not bad at all). Room was great and had a VERY quiet night - never heard another guest or any noise from moment we arrived to when we left after breakfast. Only very small issues I would bring up was there was only one large towel in room when there was 2 of us and was a bit light on staff at breakfast time but they were not biggies!! Would definitely be first choice if visiting the Guildhall again.
