OYO Tequila and Dunlin Rooms Southport Central

Disgusting!!!! We wanted a budget (it was far from the cheapest) 2 night stay This was one of the only places that had a family room (3 adults) and was central. On the picture's the place looked nice enough. Oh how wrong the place is so run down to start the signage outside was hanging off the paint work all peeling I know it's halloween week but it is shocking when we were given the keys I wanted to go before seeing the room the hallway had old dirty mattress lined up they claimed it was new beds the place stunk of ciggies and ****!!! It made me feel quite ill the room was up 29 steep steps at the top passing more broken furniture etc the 2nd bed was wedged against the smallest bathroom known to man the fixtures were all rusty no curtains on overlooked windows the bed springs were sticking up in a old mattress (I was scared to look) the quilt and sheets was white and looked clean. no bedside cabinet on one side I had, to adapt a rusty legged chair which looked like it had been pulled out of a skip in the 70's it claimed it had a hair dryer but no . not surprised. This is by far the worst place we have ever stayed and we both travel alot with work. It should be shut down.

Me and my boyfriend booked for a couple of nights because it's dog friendly. There is no charge for dogs but it's a bit more expensive. Car parking wasn't a problem. The room (which was their best one as we were told) was actually bigger than the one we'd booked. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was only one bedside table and no lamps. We had to leave the bathroom light on at night. The location was handy for everything we wanted to do. We decided on the last day to stay another night. They sent us to another OYO hotel down the road. As soon as we walked in to look at the room, a pack of dogs started barking constantly. We are both hard of hearing but they were loud. After we looked at the room, a scruffy old man that looked like a junkie came out of the room next door and began shouting at us. I couldn't understand what he was saying because he was 3 sheets to the wind. The man in charge appeared and said the room was £40 for the night. We didn't fancy staying in a crack house so we left. I've stayed in much better dog friendly places in southport with a lot more character than this place. We wouldn't stay here again. If you book, check you're staying in Tequila because Dunlin is a doss house for societies degenerates!
