The most incredible hotel set in a beautiful village, it felt completely magical! Our stay from start to finish was amazing and all staff we encountered were so charming and welcoming. We were upgraded and the room was so beyond what we expected. The attention to detail really blew us away - stocked pantry with snacks and drinks, turndown service where hot water bottles were put in the bed, painted maps of walking routes and all the extra luxuries of a top hotel. We had dinner at the Swan pub which was brilliant and breakfast at the hotel had great options and was delicious. Would 100% recommend to book the trip and is definitely worth the money!

What a fantastic choice of location and a new experience for me. WOW!!. stunning location, simply beautiful. The biggest highlight was the young lady who served us. Truly remarkable and her engagement was second to none. having worked in hospitality for over 40 years, I appreciate great service, this was a step above. I complimented her to the Rest Manager, her attention to detail and ability to up sell first class. The atmosphere was perfect, a gentle buzz of activity but beautifully calm and professional. The food was equally fantastic and delicious, we chose Partridge and Beef, both cooked and presented beautifully. I cannot wait to return. Thank you for a lovely evening. Charles

Firstly the positives…..Lunch in the garden on the day of arrival 10/10 - outstanding food and service (congratulations to James a real star and a credit to your company) Dinner at the Swan - once again food, ambiance and service 10/10 Room ( Room 6) Yes a little on the small side but as the hotel states “Cosy” 10/10 Pool - great temperature and again spot on service 10/10 The linen & towels across the pool/spa/room deserve a mention ……white white & soft, like brand new Small issue with a breakfast charge that was rectified by Management upon informing. It’s not cheap hotel by any standards but the grounds, settings and overall amenities made the experience of staying here memorable. Found all staff to be very friendly and welcoming

Had a very disappointing dining experience recently. The restaurant and bar are beautiful, the decor is so lovely and the whole property is elegant with rustic charm. The food is a real letdown, and coupled with average service, this is not a place we will revisit until we hear things have changed. We were directed to the BaaBar for a pre dinner drink. No one came to serve us for ten minutes, so we went to our table. Mains a bit limited, two of them had anchovies so if you’re not into them, even more limited. Two of us had pork, two the apparent star of the current menu, beef. Both dishes chewy, the beef basically had a gravy I could have made at home, and a couple of stringy baby leeks on the side. No one came to check on our meals once served, they basically left us alone once the over priced wine was served. At the end of the meal we did give feedback on our disappointment, specifics about what we felt fell short. Averagely and somewhat disdainfully received by the restaurant manager. It’s a shame. Our friends are local, and we will visit the area again, but won’t bother returning to Thyme. I’m sure I’ll get a response and lame explanation, however, these are the facts.

I want to share how our evening to celebrate our sons birthday, at the beautiful Ox Barn at Thyme, Southrop turned into the absolute perfect dinner! Have to say not only was the food divine but we were superbly looked after by James who masterfully balanced friendly chat with attentiveness when required. Five stars from us all!

Thyme is incredible. Immaculate from start to finish. A truly superlative experience. The way that the natural world is infused in every part of the place is really inspiring. Highly recommend.

Had lunch which was very nice. On paying the bill. Cashless £64.46. On returning home I discovered a further £15. Had been withdrawn from my account with any authorisation from myself. On enquiring on this matter I could never get through to talk about my enquiry. I left several messages but as at the moment been ignored. I’m going to try email but their customer service is not very impressive

We enjoyed 2 nights at this lovely and expansive property in the Cotswolds. The rooms are scattered throughout small houses on the property but nothing is far away from the main house with the reception and dining area. Each room is uniquely decorated with garden theme wallpaper and period furniture. We loved ours with the garden views and comfortable bed. The bathroom was perfectly fine with the shower was with a tub that had a high step to enter so it would be a challenge for some. I know there are other options within the property. The owners have done a splendid job of making the common rooms feel modern and well decorated with sheep stools and benches throughout and lots fun artwork. The restaurant is a large open room and there are also dining options outside this room is weather permits. The menus offer fresh, carefully prepared foods. Service can be a little slow if they’re busy. I did not try the spa but others in my party did and said that the services were wonderful. There is an outdoor pool with full service bar for a relaxing break in the day. Be sure to check out the kitchen gardens which are located about 1/4 mile from the main house. The gardens throughout the property are very well maintained and the gardeners are happy to answer questions with a smile. Well done, Thyme! Thank you for a wonderful visit.
