Liked · From the moment we arrived at L’Imperator Maison Albar we knew we had chosen the right hotel for our stay in Nimes. This is an EXCEPTIONAL 5-star hotel and has truly set the benchmark for luxury and hospitality. Every detail of our stay was meticulously catered to, making it a very memorable experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very warm welcome from GM Romaric Blanvillain. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were shown around the beautiful facilities and on to our room by the charming Rievelinio. The hotel combines class, elegance and warmth, with beautiful interior decor and clever use of space and architecture. The pool is heavenly - in fact there are two pools to choose from, an indoor pool next to the spa and an outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers and peace and quiet. By the pool we were looked after by Quentin with an impressive level of courtesy and efficiency. Breakfast was wonderful (thanks to Natalie and Romane) and served in a calm setting, with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. What truly sets L’Imperator apart is the exceptional service provided by the team and the way they make guests feel. Many hotels try to be hospitable because that is their job, they are ‘paid to smile’, but the Albar staff are happy to be there and show genuine care for each guest- even remembering guests names when greeting them. Special mention to the Hero’s Pierre and Benjamin, who both went above and beyond in their assistance and care. And the exceptional Fabien (so speedy) Tristan and Frederic, Kaoutar, Doriane, Karla, Clara, Maxime, Imrane, Sabah and Claire. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly exceptional stay. We have already re-booked to stay again…we love Nimes and we will come back to stay at L’Imperator.

DDinFranceI suppose the overriding positive is the location i.e. centre-ville and right near the 'arene'. It's probably the shortest distance ever I have had to walk after a gig to get to bed. Wonderful. Parking underneath (by a separate parking business - but get a discounted rate at the hotel). It was a bit odd that we were given an 'accessible-needs' room. Not sure why. I mean fine, but everything was a bit low and a curtain-type shower. A handle had been repaired on a sliding door but had not been done very well and left in a poor state. Clearly, small stuff but just seemed a bit odd (again). Breakfast was fine. Again, continuing the 'odd' theme, it seemed to be in a different and smaller room. Not sure why. ....but location can not be beaten.
This is a beautiful property, well situated and beautifully decorated and we had a room - really a suite! - that exceeded our expectations. It was the kind of room that made me want to stay in all evening and pretend it was my home, not even needing to explore Nimes outside our four walls - a beautiful bedroom, sitting room and luxurious bath (but only a tub, no shower). HOWEVER, this first impression was soured by our overnight experience. We did not know we were situated with an adjoining wall to a loud bar until it was late in the evening - and impossible to sleep with the thumping of music coming through the wall. When morning came, my partner took a bath and everything was fine. I went to take mine - remember, no shower - and discovered the water was ice cold. Hotel maintenance came and said all the water heaters were working - he did not know what the problem was but he could not solve it. So after a crummy night of sleep in this beautiful place, and no ability to clean up the next day, we continued our trip and moved on to our next destination. Given the night club, lack of sleep and no ability to shower, we thought it was reasonable to ask for some sort of accommodation and asked for half of our room cost to be refunded. The girls at the front desk were apologetic and lovely, but clearly not empowered to take any real action. They promised to share our experience with the owner/manager who would make this decision. Weeks have passed, and we have received no word from her and have to assume we have come and gone and she doesn’t care. Maybe she will care now that I have posted this review.
I think this is a solid 4 star, but it got 5 from me because they let us check in hours before check in time which never happens. Also b/c I booked the standard studio & they upgraded us to a “triple”. Be aware though that this room has the large bed upstairs in the loft & a single bed downstairs & the bathtub is just a tub(no shower curtain or anything). There was an AC unit upstairs AND one downstairs! It was clean & the WiFi worked great. The stone walls & wood ceilings in this room were very pretty. Note: just liquid soap in tub & sink, & no coffee supplies(monoprix ~10min walk to the right) microwave, frig & cooktop worked & mugs, glasses, plates, silverware, a pot & corkscrew were in kitchenette. location & price can not be beat!
We stayed a week and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, but it's not without faults. Closer to 3 star than the declared 4star The garden offers some pleasant privacy. The pool is pristine and ideal for children to splash about in but swimming - no. Our room with access to the garden was very comfortable with quiet effective air conditioning.A well-appointed bathroom with good plumbing. Breakfast ( included ) was adequate. The cooked section was scrambled eggs and sausages, didn't like. Three minor things irritated us: Ordering a Gin& Tonic the only bottle was close to empty, the next evening there was no Gin and I was advised there would not be any for the rest of the week. As it happens a fresh bottle appeared on day three. The Hotel was understaffed as when ordering drinks they were started and were on the counter only to be abandoned as guests had arrived, when I enquired after our drinks I was blankly informed that guests had to be checked in, I mentioned that I had ordered prior to them arriving ( I apologised to the guests - but the ice was melting ! ) and then on checking out the receptionist said I had to pay for all extras for our visit without seeing a bill. I explained that I had never been asked to pay a hotel bill without being shown and was told ” I guess we're different” I thought it was rude and foolish. I would still totally recommend L'Orangerie, we really enjoyed ourselves, just be prepared to navigate the above ”silly annoying” things and all will be well. There is no dining room as such although plenty of space for breakfast. There are a few restaurants across the road. It's circa 15 min walk to La Gare.
__TT***94I was surprised to find out that there are no staff stationed at the hotel past 8pm, despite my check-in voucher stating that the latest check-in time is 11pm. I do not like the experience as I arrived Nimes after a nearly 3-hour train delay and I was expecting that I could get into my room without much of a hassle. However, there was no staff at all when I entered the reception hall. I was shocked and luckily with the help of other residents I was able to call the staff and they advised how I could collect my key. I was lucky but it is possible that other customers in similar situations may not be so lucky.
We chose The Zenitude Hotel at Nimes because it was close to the Historic Centre so we could easily walk to the historic attractions. The room we booked had a kitchen area so we could make meals for ourselves should we want to. We stayed here for 2 nights 13th and 14th October 2022. We would not recommend anyone to stay here or in this area of Nimes. The hotel is conveniently situated near the historic centre which is easy walking distance. It's also close to the railway station and bus station. Our room was robbed, the door was not forced. Our laptop, Kindle and Tablet was stolen. Also other personal items were taken. Three rooms had things stolen. We have been told that a nearby hotel also had rooms broken into and guests possessions stolen. I would NEVER stay in this area of Nimes again. We spent 3 hours at the local police station reporting the crime. We do have a crime report from the police.
GGuest UserAt my great surprise I left the baggage and a travel bag in custom for the afternoon and at my return the employee told me that he had handed my personal affairs to a young man at 3:30 p.m. without the truth before the truth his identity or his number of Then I have to file a complaint and despite my request to exchange with the director no contact from her to date. This does not seem to worry the employees or the management of this hotel, which does not deserve the three stars but rather one of the entire state of the room equipment.
Hotel with a charming zero but comfortable for a stop for a walk because well connected to the road network; far from the city center, not reachable walking, and located in a fairly unsqueezed shopping area of the evening; i.e. good to sleep for a night or Two. It is equipped with two small swimming pools and a garden outside where you can make breakfast. The room was simple, quite clean, with very small spaces for anything. The hotel is very comfortable and is very comfortable and has a good and varied breakfast.
