This is a perfect inn for a brief visit to Sparta. The only person we saw was the lady in the office at check-in. She was pleasant and the check-in was easy. Our room was sufficient for our visit. This is not a five star hotel with room service and all the frills you would expect from a 5-star. This is a small town motel. It was very clean and quiet. The diner across the parking lot was closed for Christmas but we have eaten there many times over the years and the food is good. We will stay here again when in town visiting family for the holidays.

Classic no thrills motel
I have been staying at the Alleghany Inn for years. At first it was a place to stay while working construction jobs in the area. In the past few years it was to spend time in Sparta. The motel is a no thrills, classic motel. The furniture hasnt been updated in some time, but if you want a clean room to lay your head and get a good nights sleep, this is the place. Will return again.

Always stay here when we come to rock climb at Grayson Highland state park. Everyone is nice and the rooms are cozy.
