A good hotel in Spartanburg. A few observations: -- the hotel is a premium hotel and you will pay accordingly. We had a good room and no complaints. But, if you are not picky, there is better value to be had in the Greenville, Spartanburg area. -- the hotel is very elegant with nice artwork and furnishings. -- breakfast was not included, but it was a good setup that offered an upscale selection. -- the lobby is super noisy at night (there was a loud bar and it is a massive open space). Not a big problem, but travelers with young children or those looking for peace and calm should be aware of it. -- the pool looks huge in the Marriott website photo. It's not, lol... trick photography... -- parking was plentiful and fine. Overall, we were happy. I might price shop and stay somewhere else next time I am in town.

This used to be the nicest hotel in town and now it is barely what I would consider a 3 star hotel on a good day. The check-in experience was painfully slow and lacked any sense of welcoming. Upon arriving in our room, we discovered only 1 set of towels, no bath mat or hand soap, only 3 pillows on one bed while the other had 4 and only 1 pack of coffee and it was decaf. I tried calling AYS 3 times letting it ring for 20 times each and then finally resorted to using my cell to call the hotel and I finally got an answer. In addition to asking for additional towels and coffee, I asked for a luggage rack as there was not one in the room to which the agent (same one that checked me in) said they were located at the front door. When I explained what a luggage rack was (vs a luggage cart), he said the hotel did not have them. The room itself is very tired and in need of refurbishing as well as repair. Torn wallpaper, broken shade pulls, breaks in the tile are just a few issues. Dusting also sees to be non-existing as well as there was at least an inch on the air and vent returns. Prior to arrival, I received an email from the front office manager indicating “we are in the process of returning to normal operations”. Seriously other hotels are back to operating as they were pre-Covid, not sure you can keep milking the Covid excuse for what truly appears to be lack of care. Mr. Marriott Sr would turn in his grave if he set foot in this hotel. Sadly since Mr. Marriott Jr stepped down and the company acquired Starwood, the quality of product and service at Marriott worldwide has been on a downward spiral and this hotel is leading the way.

This was my second experience with this hotel, the first experience wasn’t quite bad. However this experience was a total nightmare! The night shift staff was very helpful and patient. Given the fact that the site was under construction I was able to overlook the never cleaned room and dead bugs in the sink. I was thankful and comfortable until I had to deal with the late and irresponsible management from day shift. First I was told that I would be charged $28 of my $100 deposit for leaving my room a couple of minutes late, but when I collected all of my gathering a I was then told I couldn’t receive any of my deposit back because I had brought damage to the property. My observation she is a unfit and lazy worker that just got over during this holiday season. I still thanked her for her half done and unpleasant services as pushed me towards the exit of the building and threatened to call authorities. I would’ve accepted a portion of the deposit being charged but losing the whole thing that wasn’t worth the service from the beginning is just ridiculous! This particular hotel will never receive my y my service ever again!

Without notice me and my 6 children ended up in a hotel for several nights. At the best western in spartanburg on asheville highway . I cannot thank the staff enough for their excellent customer service. They were extremely polite to my children, understanding and the Day manager even took it upon herself to mind my children a few time which is something we just don't get anymore these days. During probably the roughest times in our lives. I couldn't be more grateful for your hospitality and your genuine kindness. The night attendant was super welcoming understanding and friendly as I tried to check in in a messy hurry. Breakfast was our most trying time and i'd like to give a special. Thank you so the ladies in the kitchen for keeping up with my three hungry boys and three hungry girls.

All of the staff were extremely nice, especially Ethan and the breakfast staff. We were able to get extra pillows and a late checkout. I didn't realize how much I would need the late check out until the next morning. The AC in our room started sporadically ticking as soon as we laid down to sleep. My husband was injured earlier that day and I didn't want to move him so I tried to deal with the noise. Unfortunately, I'm a very light sleeper and the random ticks became torture for me throughout the night. By dawn the ticking lessened just in time for the near by train whistle to start. Nothing that the staff could've fixed in the moment but unfortunately, I dont think I'll return to see if we just had a bad room. However, I want to stress, we had no issues with the staff or other amenities.

Our initial impression of the facility was negative due to the older lady at the front desk. She was not very welcoming when greeting us nor apologetic regarding the time it took to check us in which was over 20 minutes. When we finally got to the room the AC was not working which required me to go back down to the check-in desk. Fortunately, another front desk clerk who was actually preparing to leave for the day assisted us by attempting to fix the AC and then eventually provided us with a different room assignment - she was wonderful - I wish I had gotten her name. Both rooms were exceptionally clean which pleased me to no end. The entire facility was very nice and impeccably clean. Everyone on the staff (from housekeeping to the numerous front desk staff we engaged with over the course of our stay) was very nice and accommodating with the exception of our initial check-in clerk. I would highly recommend this location but recommend they better train some of their staff.

A Travelers worst nightmare, the night of June 2,2023 me and my girlfriend decided to travel to Spartanburg for the night as we had to be in the area the very next day to look for apartments. I arrived right at 11 to check in and get settled into my room… It was some Hispanic lady behind the counter checking me in then “Kelvin” finished up the rest.. me and my girlfriend got our room which was “216” and got settled in for the night as we were dealing with graduation all that day. Over the course of the night my girlfriend woke up freaking out and was breaking into Hives as something bit us as we was asleep.. idk if it was bed bugs or a “tick” as the hotel property manager would say since they’re a pet friendly hotel… I rushed to the QuikTrip near by to get my girlfriend some “Benadryl” so she could stop breaking out.. I get back to the hotel and show Kelvin my girlfriends faces and he’s like oh crap as he knew something was up or he knew we was perfectly fine before we step foot into the Hampton inn…. He states that he doesn’t have any rooms available for me as his hotel and his sister hotel was completely booked for the night.. he then states that the room across from 219 was open and said that we could go check it out.. me and Kelvin went to 219 and the mattress had a big stain on it as well as the mattress was flipped. I told Kelvin that would not work and could we get our money back… he asked to check and see my girlfriend back and her face as she was bit.. me and Kelvin proceeded to walk in the room to check in on my girlfriend and my girlfriend sees something crawling in the bed as “bed bugs” me and Kelvin took pictures and I LEFT to come back to Columbia, SC at 4:45 in the morning…. The manager calls me that following Monday/ Tuesday saying that it could’ve been a tick biting my girlfriend but why weren’t the sheets changed upon our arrival as we didn’t have any pets in our room nor own any pets IF GOOGLE WOULD GIVE ME THE OPTION TO UPLOAD THE PICTURES I WOULD.

Very Good
On my drive north from Atlanta, this was as far as I wanted to go on the first day, and it was a great stop. I wasn't there in time to shop at the outlets, but they are super close. There are lots of restaurants at the next exit, though construction makes it hard to get there----but the hotel desk clerk told me about another way to get there, using local roads. I recommend Daddy Joe's Beach House BBQ and Grill. You can also buy fabulous SC peaches and other produce at Abbott's or Strawberry Hill right next tot the hotel. My room was clean and comfortable, and I had an excellent night's sleep. Two reasons for Very Good instead of Excellent: the towel rack was hanging and not usable, because of a missing bracket. The front desk clerk said that it had been reported to maintenance. And the pen on the table broke into two pieces when I removed the cap....strange.
VVoyager34021491132I picked this hotel because it another reviewer said it was new. Sadly, they are not maintaining anything that is new. There is no attention to detail. My bathroom faucet was dirty, the tub even though it’s new with the label still on it, isn’t properly cleaned. The new carpet is not thoroughly vacuumed. You can clearly see the dirt dust, I would call it from other people’s boots or shoes. The breakfast area looks good from a far but the sink hasn’t been cleaned surely not in the last 24 hours and probably before that. The most positive thing is that the beds and mattresses and sheets are new and the bed is comfortable as are the pillows. If this hotel is new or being refurbished, it will soon be a dump due to lack of attention to cleanliness and maintenance of the new things. If you book this Hotel online and get it for under $70, it’s probably worth cleaning the bathroom yourself otherwise I think it’s a terrible value. The hotel has the ingredients to be a good place, but due to lack of proper cleaning and maintenance it is quickly becoming a dump.
This motel is the in a rough location and you need to drive around if you want to have a seat down meal. A lot of people walking around the property that seemed to be out of place , nota guest of the motel and we were woken up throughout the night with auto alarms going off. The bed was clean and super soft. Other than a hint of smoke the room was ok but I believe the smoke was from 2 doors down from our room was a person smoking outside. While we were at Cracker Barrel I got some room refresher to help the smell.
