Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield
"It wasa. Good location and place was tidy and clean as well except few basic things missing like water in the room etc etc"
Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Springfield Southwest
"This hotel opened in January 2026. My husband and I stayed for one night while in town to visit the Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library. We are regular guests at Fairfield Inns, and this one exceeded our expectations. Obviously, being six months old is a plus, but it's really the amenities and the staff that make it such a great place to stay. The room is what you would expect for a Fairfield -- bright, well-appointed, and clean. Then there is the beautiful outdoor area. It's not just a few tables, chairs and umbrellas. Also included are a sofa grouping, three kinds of chairs, a big-screen TV, two gas fire pits, and hanging and wall lights. So lovely! Then there is also the phenomenal breakfast. Again, the offerings are what you would expect, but add Danish, baby quiches, biscuits and gravy, two kinds of sausage, home fries, etc., etc. All of it was fresh and delicious, and nothing ran low, even as closing time neared. For me, an extra nice touch was real plates and flatware instead of paper and plastic. Also, the breakfast area is well staffed by friendly people and is kept spotlessly clean. A manager came through this morning and his interactions with the staff were positive and complimentary. The front desk staff were also very friendly and gracious. It's clear that these folks all enjoy their jobs. Well done, Marriott."

Home2 Suites by Hilton Springfield
"New hotel, off of I55, south of the capitol bldng. & close to Abe’s Museum, so don’t expect wooded areas as a view. STILL, we enjoyed our pristine King room which was a step above others in terms of size. I especially liked that the bathroom had 2 doors. One to the bedroom. The other, to the kitchen / living room area. We arrived mid afternoon and Kayleigh warmly greeted us. She noted we were Diamond level and offered water and a snack. Later that evening, still at the desk, big smile as we grab an Amy’s Burrito and Lean Cuisine to heat up in our very large, full size refrigerator kitchen which was adequately stocked with plates, and such. VERY easy to log into our NetFlix account. Ample storage with 2 lg. closets so we could keep belongings separated. Comfy bed. Wish there was at least one flat pillow as their cushy (high grade) pillows our not my go to. I imagine I could have called the desk. The work out and pool areas were clean, though I did not use, despite good intentions. We LOVED that checkout was not until Noon so we could read (and write this review) B4 heading home where a quite lull is difficult to find. Oh, breakfast was mediocre, but with food prices and even what people eat select to eat… No fresh fruit. Oatmeal was empty. The reheated egg rounds, well…. However, there was cold, sweet vanilla yogurt from a dispenser which is practical for this type of service and “green” given less plastic. I wish I could see ing. And also added granola and raisins so decent. Unpeeled, cold hard eggs so no ick-factor re: have others touched. Real place settings and plates, bowls, vs plastic. Juice, waffles, cereal, some bagels and pasteries. SO, given all considerations, a practical array as most guests were waffle and sugar oriented. Enough to get a somewhat healthy start to the day. I’d stay again and like it was close to I55."

MainStay Suites Springfield IL
State House Inn
"This hotel seemed a good value but we had a major issue. After several tries, even the staff could not get the key card to work. Another room was provided but unfortunately, we could not access medication, feminine hygiene products, toiletries, food/water. I deducted points from the service score as we were left without updates as to when maintenance would assist us. Trip customer service reported that nobody would answer the phone when they tried to assist us. It was not until I inquired that were were informed were would be locked out until the next morning. As a result, I had to go out and purchase necessities. Despite the cost and inconvenience all Trip.com offered was $5 in coins, which is unacceptable. The hotel said they would refund to our card but since we booked Trip the couldn't do anything. That said, the staff was courteous and professional, one staff member even loaned us a phone charge cable which was appreciated. The room itself was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and this was the best part of the stay. Breakfast: I don't recommend the breakfast. The offerings were very similar to other hotels but preparation seems to be the weak link. For example, the sausage appeared to have just thawed and was colder than room temp. The eggs were watery with brown chunks in them, perhaps from scorching the bottom. TLDR: Our needs were minimal and without our difficulties with the key cards and breakfast this would have been a good value. It's concerning that a hotel doesn't have a way to access a room in an emergency scenario."
Residence Inn Springfield South
"This is a great residence inn. We have stayed here a few times, and we just stayed again over the July 4th holiday weekend. The staff are great. The room was very clean. They are doing a good job maintaining the hotel. It still seems new. The breakfast was good and is typical of the brand. We stay at a lot of Marriotts and residence inns, and this is a good place to example of the brand. We will be back!"
