Premier Inn St. Andrews hotel

Handy location, large room, comfy bed. But: Ventilation was poor, shut down randomly. Condensation problems apparent, black mold and cleanliness below standard. Maybe shouting for a refresh and some hard earned maintenance in room. Won't advise against, cannot however recommend after this visit.

Good location and walkable to the town. Fairly quiet during this stay but out of season for golfers. Room was comfortable but needs an upgrade, no problem with the cleanliness overall but some mould on bath seal. Good breakfast with plenty of options and manger very attentive

We paid a little extra for a Premier Plus room for once for a bit of an extra treat on a two night stay. It was disappointing. We had stayed here when it first opened around ten years ago. I never like when you can't open a window and the rooms rely on air conditioning. I think it's so they can be eco friendly. The room smelt musty to start with. The carpet in the room was a bit mottled with bleach marks etc. and could do with being replaced. The bedding seemed clean but pillows very uncomfortable. Staff did finally remedy the black mould problem in the bathroom and certainly did replace a lightbulb on the reading light. Thanks. We did see a large fan in our room....a bit strange when you also read one of the earlier reviews.... It's certainly midwinter right now so not what you'd expect to see.... There were extras for the room tea and coffee at reception but we were a bit short of toilet rolls though they did give us extra when asked so thanks for all those things. The coffee at breakfast and the croissants were very good. Staff at breakfast helpful and pleasant. However it just all did not feel as good as I'm used to at Premier Inns which are normally excellent. I'm hoping the difference for paying for a better room might get refunded from Premier Inn..... !
