When visiting the area we always eat at The Oakwheel. They welcome me and my faithful companion, plus tother half! The menu is always varied but has the traditional pub favourites. The beer is also cracking! The staff who are mainly youngsters are extremely attentive and always have a smile. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

We have previously visited the Oakwheel for drinks and food, this year we called for breakfast and on the Saturday I had the "Big Wheel" and black pudding, my wife had the "Oakwheel". Which was excellent, cooked to perfection. On the Sunday I had the Scrambled egg on toast, and my wife had a Bacon Bap. Again cooked to perfection. We would recommend

Absolutely delicious food, I would go as far to say my pork belly was the best I’ve had for a long time and oh my goodness the crackling was the best! All four meals turned up on lovely hot plates and was very well presented. Staff very attentive, nothing too much trouble. Certainly worth a visit:-))

Stopped off for lunch during a long journey, sign outside said 'Open Now for Delicious Food'. Asked for a menu and was asked 'Have you Booked' Reply No. You will have to wait I'll see if we can find you a table. From that point we were treated like naughty children, given the worst table in the building, told drinks orders would be taken but after a long delay we were constantly ignored, so we left, very disappointed. Bar manager/landlady should also learn to discipline young staff away from customers, that was not pleasant to have to watch

I have visited this pub several times and was surprised by my overall experience. I ordered a beef Sunday roast which was not cheap but usually very nice. Unfortunately the beef was very tough I couldn't cut it let alone eat it. When I dared to tell the land lady she very curtly told me no one else had complained so there was nothing wrong. From a customer service point of view I thought she handled the situation very badly and I will not be using the pub again

We came for a birthday meal. Food was fresh and not frozen pub grub but was especially average. I would not recommend going on a special occasion. Lovely looking traditional pub and clean and service is none existent. You have to constantly walk up to the bar. You don't feel like you're being attended to. For the restaurant prices there should be better hospitality and personality. Sorry

Brilliant meal again. Lovely pub and surroundings with great food. Great play area outside although the weather ruined it ! Staff were all lovely and helpful. Lovely menu with fresh food home cooked to order. Brilliant selection of food and desserts. Nice fire going too which was great on a cold day

Myself and my cousins stayed here Saturday night 8th December. We all had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly. Lovely pub area, with an open fire. We only had some chips with our drinks, as we had eaten earlier, but they were lovely chunky chips! Very nice. Our rooms were lovely, and the breakfast was delicious!! We are all looking forward to returning here, in the near future. Would definitely recommend.
