"After checking out, we wanted to go to the bar just for a glass of water. A female staff member very rudely stopped us, saying that the bar was only for guests who had checked in and that we couldn't enter after checking out. I understand that this is the hotel's policy, and we got out immediately after being stopped. However, the attitude of this staff member was very unfriendly. As foreigners, we are not familiar with every rule in Japan, and her demeanor made us feel very uncomfortable. Moreover, her exact words were, “あなたはもうチェックアウトしてるでしょ、ここはチェックインしてるお客様しか使えない,” which implies that once I've checked out, I'm no longer a guest. She referred to me as あなた, and although my Japanese is not perfect, I am well aware that this term is considered quite impolite in Japanese."

"My 2-day stay at Kawayu Kanko hotel was very pleasant. Language did not deter him as he patiently gave me a lesson (using his phone translator) about the geographics and the creation of the Kawayu Onsen area. Secondly, the onsen was great. The temperature was just right for me and the mineral refreshed my body instantly. I was told the hot spring water in the hotel came directly from a source that is only a few kilometers away. Lastly, the kaiseki dinner was great. The spread was generous. On a freezing winter day, the 2 personal hotpots greatly filled up and warmed my body. I will definitely return to the hotel."
