Overall, the property has a pleasant concept, and the surrounding greenery creates a very nice jungle‑resort, exotic atmosphere. The natural environment is well‑designed and enjoyable but my 2 nights stay came with several issues that future guests may want to be aware of. Considering the price, there are much better options in the area that offer a more comfortable experience and better facilities. 1. Privacy & Layout The architectural layout offers very limited privacy. From the balcony, neighboring rooms are directly visible, which made it difficult to use the outdoor space comfortably. 2. Cleanliness & Hygiene Some areas of the room were not thoroughly cleaned. The built‑in storage under the bed had visible dust and dirt, making it unsuitable for storing clean clothes.In the shower area, the pebble‑style floor creates many hard‑to‑clean corners. Before I even used the shower, I noticed hair and even ***** hair trapped between the stones. During showering, water drained extremely slowly, causing the floor to flood and submerge above my feet under standing water. This design makes the area prone to bacteria buildup and was uncomfortable to use, especially for female guests during sensitive times. 3. Bathroom Fixtures The handheld bidet spray had extremely strong pressure and ice‑cold water, which made it uncomfortable to use—especially for women during sensitive days. 4. Safety & Property Layout The property’s terrain is quite complex, with multiple staircases and uneven levels. At night, many areas are poorly lit, which can be unsafe if guests are not watching their step. Some decorative reflective pieces hanging from trees also create a rather unsettling atmosphere after dark.The corridor near my room remained unlit at night, making the area feel dim and uncomfortable. Additionally, during rainy weather, several outdoor areas accumulated water, making certain paths slippery and less safe to walk through. 5. Room FacilitiesvThe room does not have a wardrobe or proper clothing hangers. The only hanging option is a decorative tree‑branch style rack, which is suitable for small items but not for clothing. As a result, clothes can only be placed on the balcony, where humidity and rain make it difficult to keep them dry.vThere is also no bedside lamp or reading light, which makes the room not work‑friendly.vAdditionally, there is no luggage rack or storage space, so suitcases must be kept on the floor throughout the stay. 6. Condition of FacilitiesvMany parts of the property appear worn down and in need of maintenance. In the dining area, several corners and edges show visible deterioration, and I noticed areas with water leakage. Overall, the facilities feel quite aged and could benefit from repairs and updates. 7. Service & CommunicationvThere is no phone in the room, and front desk service ends around 10 PM. Even after I added the property’s contact information, my door was still knocked on at night despite having a “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed. Complimentary water was provided, but only when requested; it was not proactively replenished. 8. Deposit & BreakfastvThe property requires a cash deposit upon arrival, which feels unusual considering the age and condition of the facilities. Breakfast was provided, but the quality was noticeably lower compared to other homestays in the area. 9. Additional Safety ConcernsvI found a sharp, hard plastic piece in a dish I ordered. I pulled it out from my mouth, and I almost swallowed it. The meal was remade, but the original dish was not waived.vThe bathroom door lock also malfunctioned once. There were also quite a few jumping spiders in the room due to the environment, likely because regular insect control is not performed. I requested insect spray from the front desk, and they did respond quickly and helped resolve it.

This hotel excels at being a quiet, super clean base of operations with genuine Thai hospitality. The Aesthetic and Room Comfort (4.5/5) The hotel has a wonderful, clean, and minimalist aesthetic—think contemporary Thai design mixed with a touch of Japanese simplicity. Our Deluxe Double Room was spacious and spotlessly clean; honestly, the housekeeping team deserves massive praise, as you could constantly see them ensuring the whole place was immaculate. We appreciated the strong air conditioning and complimentary amenities. If I had one tiny note, the bed was on the firmer side, which is common in Thailand, but worth noting if you prefer a softer mattress. Service and Atmosphere (5/5) The staff here are the true stars. From check-in to check-out, everyone was genuinely friendly, attentive, and quick to help with directions or calling a taxi. Despite being close to the action, the hotel is surprisingly quiet. The garden area and the lovely outdoor swimming pool offer a tranquil place to relax and cool off, which was a real bonus after a hot afternoon. Location (4/5) The location in the Chang Khlan area is fantastic. It's not right inside the Old City walls, which keeps it peaceful, but it’s still highly convenient. We were just a short, easy walk from the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar and close enough to head to the Tha Phae Gate quickly. Being right next to the newly revitalized Khlong Mae Kha (Mae Kha Canal) also gave us a lovely place for an evening stroll. Verdict Hotel Aono is excellent value for money. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, and well-located hotel with exceptionally kind staff, this is a brilliant choice for a short city break in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended!

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the decor throughout, from the front desk to the room and the rooftop terrace, was beautiful and cozy. You can tell the owner has great taste. It's about a 20-minute walk to Maya? Anyway, it's not too far. We happened to be there during Songkran, so getting a taxi was difficult, which meant we walked to Maya every day to have fun! There's a 7-Eleven about 50 meters away, and you can find some restaurants or massage shops within a 10-minute walk. The brunch place next door is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend it. You can even book it as part of the hotel's breakfast package, which is a better deal. The staff at the front desk, both the ladies and gentlemen, were very kind and patiently answered all our questions.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the Nimman area. There are many restaurants, cafes, and a 7-Eleven just a 3-minute walk away. The room is beautiful and spacious, with a full-length mirror which I really liked. A special shout-out to how comfortable the mattress and pillows were! The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The only significant drawback was the poor drainage in the shower area. Basically, as soon as I started washing my hair and showering, the water would flood out. Luckily, the room I booked had a bathtub, so I could shower in there. I hope the hotel can address this, and then it would be a perfect stay.

The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the famous Wat Phra Singh. There are several recommended restaurants and convenience stores like 7-Eleven within walking distance, and getting a taxi is very easy. The hotel's exterior and decor are also very thoughtfully designed, and the staff are polite, friendly, and always ready to help. We booked the most basic room type, which was quite an experience. The wall-mounted air conditioner was missing its deflector, so we couldn't adjust the fan direction, and it blew directly onto the bed. Turning the temperature down made it too cold, and turning it up made it too hot. The bathroom was quite cramped, and the showerhead was difficult to adjust. There was a window that was purely for aesthetics; it couldn't be opened, nor could the curtains be adjusted. Facing the corridor, it felt more like a decoration, making it essentially a windowless room. Honestly, I could accept all of these things, as it's part of the hotel's design and positioning. What I couldn't tolerate was that the room's Wi-Fi was practically unusable, and even after asking the staff, the issue couldn't be resolved. Mobile data also experienced interference and was not smooth. Fortunately, we only stayed for two nights and were out most of the time, so it was fine for just sleeping. I do recommend the spa next door to the hotel.

It has expanded its offerings to include modern comforts like a fitness center and a saltwater outdoor swimming pool that overlooks the nearby mountains, positioning itself as a peaceful sanctuary just outside the busy city center. There are many massage parlors near the hotel, and a 7-Eleven is just a 5-7 minute walk away. It was very relaxing to buy food and microwave it directly on the first floor of the hotel. It's also convenient if you need to store anything cold. It's a shame I missed out on the hotel's free breakfast, which is served from 7 AM to 10 AM, as my itinerary was already set. There's even a swing set outside the hostel floor. They offer free luggage storage and there's an elevator, which is quite convenient. I found my room type to be clean, with no insect issues, and the bed was comfortable and spacious. The hotel's name is short and convenient for ride-sharing apps, making it easy to get back. The staff were very friendly and tried their best to help with anything needed. I even asked them to hold an item for a friend staying on the hostel floor to pick up at the front desk.

This is a classic old hotel, about 8 km from the airport. The elevator is there but out of service, so you have to take the stairs. Checking in was a bit confusing at first – where's the front desk staff? It turns out you check in via an automated kiosk. If you look confused, a staff member will come to help you. The air conditioning works great. The wooden wardrobe is broken and very vintage. The old parquet flooring has a great vibe. The bathroom is decorated in the style of an old school toilet from 1987 – luckily, there's still hot water and a comfortable toilet. The bed is very soft, accompanied by the sound of planes taking off periodically. After midnight, it's quiet until 8 AM. The hotel is on the main road, with pubs, massage parlors, and restaurants nearby. It's perfect for backpackers or ghost hunters, focusing on a casual solo stay or with friends for content creation. For just over 600 baht, just sleep it off, morning will come eventually. So many stories! This is the first hotel I've booked that left me utterly baffled, and I really wanted to write a review about it! 😂😂😂 Go check it out!
