4-Star Hotels in Singapore

The hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from MRT Exit C, so the location is pretty good. It's also convenient to take the green line to NTU and downtown, making it a great value for money spot. The rooms aren't huge (it's Singapore, after all), but they're stylish, clean, and the bedding is comfortable. The only downside was our room, 629. It had an emergency window (I saw on the floor plan that two rooms per floor have them), and the sound insulation from the outside was quite poor. At first, I even wondered if the window wasn't closed properly. There wasn't anyone at the front desk who spoke Chinese when we checked in, but there was when we checked out. Little tip: There's an ice water dispenser at the bar next to the front desk where you can get free ice water! 😄

The room and bathroom are indeed a bit small (which is probably common in Singapore). The front desk staff are friendly and diligent, and they also provide explanations in Chinese. You can scan a QR code in the room to request housekeeping services like extra pillows, blankets, or other amenities, or you can pick them up at the front desk. The hotel is located next to the MRT station (Little India on the NE line and Rochor on the EW line). There's a convenience store downstairs and a hawker center nearby with many food options. It's close to the Little India and Rochor commercial areas, making it a good choice.

We stayed for 3 nights in a quad room (two rooms with one shared entrance), but the front desk upgraded us to a 6-person room for free. It had four separate rooms, so we each had our own space and slept very comfortably. However, the bathroom sink being outside the actual bathroom was a bit inconvenient. A hairdryer was provided and worked well enough. Breakfast was available every day, even on weekends, but the selection was extremely limited. If you went early, getting food was smooth, but if you arrived too late, there was a long queue, which was very time-consuming. We only ate breakfast on the first day; we thought about a second round, but seeing the long line, we decided against it. From the second day onwards, we just went downstairs to Ya Kun Kaya Toast and Toast Box. There are no longer water dispensers on each floor; you need to go to the front desk to refill water. Laundry and dryer facilities are available for 8 SGD each. Although expensive, it was very convenient. Downstairs, there are restaurants and a supermarket. The location is excellent, close to Fort Canning Park, Clarke Quay, the Old Hill Street Police Station, and Chijmes. Overall, it was a great experience. It would be perfect if they could improve the breakfast environment and flow.

Room is large enough for a small family with a living room and pantry area, complete with washing machine and microwave. It is quiet and bedding are comfortable. It is within walking distance to star vista so plenty of food options. Walk a bit further and the MRT is there. Service staff are polite and diligent. Room 1901

The location was great, right near the station. It's quicker and cooler to get to the hotel from the station by going through Bugis+. The room was a bit small and the building is old, but considering Singapore's prices and the prime location, it was a good value and a perfectly fine stay. My child loved the loft bed, so I'd recommend it for families. The pool was excellent. The breakfast had a good variety, and I was happy to see kaya toast. There was a Japanese-speaking staff member at the front desk, but it seemed they weren't there every day. All the staff were kind and friendly, making it a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

This hotel is one building with marriot so if your keys not working maybe you got to wrong elevator 😁. Location is not too bad , near from orchard easy way by a taxi but walking also not too bad 20-30mins . So many offers and happy hours good for you. Breakfast is 70/10 Pool is good , Room spacious and clean , so far so good.

The room size was decent, air conditioning was strong, and the shower had good water pressure. The location is close to Lavender MRT station, about a 10-minute walk to the hotel. However, one side of the hotel is next to a funeral home, which might make some people a little uneasy going in and out at night. One night, the doorbell was faulty and kept ringing every half hour. I called, and a staff member came up within a few minutes. They mentioned that the cleaning staff had already noticed the problem at noon but couldn't reach me when they called in the evening. There's room for improvement in communication here; I suggest refining the process, perhaps by leaving a notification letter in the room.

The locations is excellent; only a 2-minute walk to the nearest MRT station. The quality of the room is also good while still being reasonable in price. I like how it comes with a bidet too in Singapore, slippers, and water dispenser in a shared room. However, you can tell the building is quite old; maybe the refurbishing process missed some of the old cracks and blemishes. One thing that can be improved is the amenities; it would be great if we get face cloths, non-watered-down hand soap and facial tissues. Overall, this hotel is quite good for its price

The room I was given was quite good, larger than pictured, and some staff members speak Chinese. The location is pretty good; you can catch the subway right across the street, and there's a bus stop nearby. They gave us two breakfast vouchers, but whatever you do, don't eat it! The breakfast is really bad. I suggest not booking a room that includes breakfast; there's Ya Kun Kaya Toast in the mall right opposite! The hotel is quite clean, and the service is okay too.

My stay at Studio M Hotel Singapore was a mixed experience that balanced comfort with a frustrating service encounter. On the positive side, the rooms are thoughtfully designed and stand out from typical city hotels. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the overall aesthetic had a sleek, contemporary vibe that makes it appealing for both business and leisure travelers. The location is also a strong advantage. Situated along the Singapore River, it offers easy access to dining spots and is within reasonable distance of key areas like Clarke Quay. It’s convenient enough without being right in the middle of the noise, which I appreciated. However, the experience was let down by the lack of flexibility from the front desk staff. During check-in, I did not have my IC or passport on hand, and while I understand the need for verification, the handling of the situation felt unnecessarily rigid. There was little effort to explore alternative solutions or offer reassurance, which made the process more stressful than it needed to be. In a hospitality setting, a bit of understanding and problem-solving goes a long way, and this was noticeably lacking. That said, once past the check-in issue, the rest of the stay was relatively smooth. The facilities were decent, and housekeeping maintained a good standard throughout. Overall, Studio M delivers well on comfort, design, and location, but the service experience—particularly at the front desk—could benefit from a more guest-centric approach. It’s a great place to stay if everything goes according to plan, but if you run into any hiccups, be prepared for a by-the-book response rather than a flexible one.
