Guest UserI can't deny the service was great, and it was pretty good value for money. They even gave us a voucher for the convenience store next door. However, the room was only superficially renovated; it was actually quite old, and the facilities were also dated. You can't tell from the pictures, but it's genuinely old, just for your reference. On the plus side, there's a small pool inside, and it's right next to the night market, which is really convenient.

Anonymous UserHad a lovely time at Moose Nimman. Situated within the nimman area its just a super short walking distance from the main tourist hotspots like one nimman and maya shopping mall. The room was very spacious & clean. We were also pleasantly surprised by the amazing breakfast spread. There was also free flow drinks & desserts every afternoon in the lobby. Will definitely stay here again when in chiangmai!

คนนั้นไง คนที่ชอบเที่ยวI really enjoyed my stay at Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort - A Vegan Retreat.
The biggest highlight is its excellent location, very close to Tha Phae Gate and other major attractions. It's super convenient for exploring the Old City and the walking street market. Getting around is easy; Grab rides are affordable. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes around the hotel.
The hotel's atmosphere is quiet, private, and feels very safe. Although the entrance is a bit deep into an alley, it actually contributes to a restful stay, free from outside disturbances. The hotel itself is clean, lush, and has green spaces that make for a relaxing experience throughout your visit.
Overall, it's a place in Chiang Mai I'd love to return to. It's perfect for those who want to explore the Old City and also for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city.

Guest UserI love creating reviews and social content — especially about ryokan-style stays and onsen experiences. There may be more ryokans in Thailand now, but when a friend recommended Chez Nij Ryokan Onsen, I was genuinely impressed from the moment I arrived.
The blend of Thai, Japanese, and French influences is beautifully unique. Even more special is the history — this was once the residence of the former Governor of Chiang Mai. The house is filled with antiques, charm, and character. Stepping inside feels warm, welcoming, and truly homely. The owner, a doctor and grandson of the former governor, personally cares for guests and shared meaningful stories about the residence — an honor I won’t forget.
Location-wise, it’s peaceful yet convenient. Nimmanhaemin Road is only 8 minutes away, perfect for dining and shopping. Even returning around 1 AM, the owner and night manager were still there to welcome me. The alley is well lit, quiet, and safe, with another hotel and a tennis court next door. A 7-Eleven is just a 5-minute walk away on the main road.
I stayed in the Studio Room with onsen access — incredibly private and peaceful. The tatami design is beautiful, the bed unbelievably soft, and the air quality excellent (my usual dust allergies improved after just one night). The complimentary minibar was a lovely bonus. Direct onsen access from the room is available in the morning only. During female and male sessions, the private door is securely locked and entry is through the changing room — a very safe and thoughtful system.
The open-air onsen is stunning — inspired by the winter sea of Hokkaido and said to be one of the largest in Chiang Mai. Cleanliness and hygiene standards are outstanding. The mineral water left my skin noticeably smoother and deeply hydrated, unlike other onsens I’ve tried. The schedule is very well organized, with separate time slots and thorough cleaning between sessions. I checked in at 3 PM and immediately enjoyed the women’s session. After 5:30 PM, guests are asked to leave for routine cleaning and to dry off properly to prevent slipping — a clear reflection of their commitment to safety and hygiene. Soaking at 7:30 AM in the cool morning air truly felt like having a private hot spring.
Breakfast is served as a generous full set — so abundant I couldn’t finish it all — yet the staff still offered more. Everything was delicious, and the chef personally came to serve and chat, adding such a thoughtful touch. In the evening, a complimentary mini tea set (9–10 PM) made the stay even more charming.
I wrote this from the heart to reflect the genuine care I received. It was absolutely worth it, and I’m so glad I followed my friend’s recommendation. I’ll definitely return to Chez Nij whenever I’m back in Chiang Mai.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to explore Nimman Road. We booked a triple room with two bathrooms, and we were very pleased with the room layout. My only minor complaint is that we found some small spiders and ants on the desk and in the bathroom. I hope they can improve their pest control. The breakfast selection isn't extensive, but for the price point, it's quite good. I particularly enjoyed the Thai vegetable soup.

I recently stayed in a King Room at Novotel Chiang Mai. The overall environment was clean, the bed was comfortable, and all basic services met the brand's expected standards.
The only issue that the hotel management team needs to seriously address and promptly improve is the inspection and repair of bathroom facilities in the guest rooms. During my stay, I found that the power outlet next to the sink, intended for the hairdryer, was completely non-functional. Initially, I thought it was just an isolated fault in my room, but after asking friends who were staying there as well, I discovered that the socket in the same location in their room was also broken.
A faulty hairdryer socket caused considerable inconvenience for daily grooming. The fact that the exact same problem occurred in two consecutive rooms indicates that this is not an isolated incident, but rather an oversight in guest room maintenance inspections. I hope the hotel will conduct a comprehensive check and repair of all bathroom outlets throughout the property. If this hardware issue can be improved, the overall accommodation experience will be even better.

Anonymous UserThe value for money is pretty good, and the room was nice and clean. However, it was odd that there was a table but no chair in the room, which made it inconvenient for girls to sit down and do their makeup. Also, the shower water would spill out into the bathroom because there was no waterproof strip or threshold, leaving the whole floor wet. Still, the hotel's biggest advantage is its location – it's right in an alley next to Tha Phae Gate in the Old City, with a 7-Eleven nearby. So, I'd definitely recommend this place if you're planning to visit the Old City. The breakfast buffet was quite good, and they even had latte art with the coffee.

JonKMWe really loved this hotel. The room was large, clean, and beautifully designed. The pool was also great. It is also in a great location right night to one of the main night markets, and nearby everything else. But the best thing were the friendly and helpful staff. Especially Eve who helped us find some nice local places, and made great reccomendations on what to see and do which really enhanced our trip. Thank you so much!
