Booked for Sunday lunch, did not disappoint. Kitchen staff went above and beyond, accommodating my picky family with varying requests, nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious with a great choice. Our lovely waiter was great and attentive. Thank you for a lovely afternoon

My daughter was married here yesterday, and I'm probably a little biased, but everyone I spoke to said it was the best wedding they've ever been to. Angela and the team had everything organised to the nth degree. Seamless transitions from ceremony to meal to disco in the evening. Nothing was too much trouble. 55 guests were served good hot food promptly and with great care. The rooms were warm and the beds were extremely comfortable. It's a beautiful building with a rich history. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Quite disappointed with the “Christmas” meal we had. Never had leek and potato soup that was so green. 2 very thin slices of turkey (off a roll), massive thick slice of stuffing and I suppose maybe a inch of a pig in blanket all covered in gravy. Roast potatoes and mixed frozen veg - no seasonal veg eg sprouts, carrots and parsnips. Had previously praised this place, but certainly not this Christmas menu. I really hope the menu on Christmas Day is better. It should be as it says it’s a carvery.

I’m glad to say I cancelled this booking before going. The reason was. I booked the Saturday 19th October for my wife’s birthday. The hotel looked lovely and just what we wanted and it would have been a great surprise. I live in Manchester and asked for us to check bags in an hour before check in(3pm) so we could make an outing I booked at 3:30. The next day I received a message saying that I would be charged £30 for this request. I called up to discuss this and instantly got rejected from a very rude lady. I wish I remembered her name. I simply said I wanted to book bags in and that be charged £30 was a bit excessive I thought. I was told I could wait in the bar area until 3 or wait in the car park. Then she put phone down on me!!! Nope I don’t want to stay there so cancelled straight away and choose another place to stay. Obviously they don’t want my custom. No problem. I have found a lovely hotel in Harrogate who welcomed me there check in an hour earlier.

We Got married here 21st of September 2024. Everything was perfect. Angela and her team take away all the stresses of organising a wedding. Every wish was catered for and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the portions were large. In essence Angela and her team will ensure you have the most amazing wedding.

This hotel is situated on a busy road so you need to ask for a quiet room There is no lift. Have to take bags up stairs Outside needs painting Breakfast is just ok Evening meal is better. Floorboards in this hotel are very creaky Bed a little on the hard side

We had a wonderful stay Staff very efficient, friendly and hard working. Room comfy, beds clean and comfortable. Food of good quality and variety of choices, good specials board. Rooms could do with a little tlc around the windows a lot of condensation on the window sill.

We stayed one night and to be honest the room was awful. Mold all around the bath and a horrible view from both windows. Room was very tired. Food was OK but not the fine dining it says on the menu. Staff really did try hard and they saved the day. Evening meal was OK and breakfast was the best meal.
