We were booked into this hotel by tour operator Wingbuddy out of Canada. We were to be booked in 4 star or better accommodations throughout our travels in Greece. This was in NO SHAPE OR FORM A 4 STAR PROPERTY even though it calls itself one! We were shown to our room by George ( the owner , apparently) who complained about carrying our luggage because he had heart problems. The room was run down looking with mismatched furniture with rusty legs & saggy beds. It smelled musty. I noticed immediately there were several spiders on the ceiling. The bathroom had mold and mildew in the shower & dead bugs on the wall that the last occupant had killed presumably. There were dozens of tiny ants roaming around in the bathroom & main area. We asked for a different room & were shown one that was nearly identical but wasn't cleaned or made up. There were no other room available they said. We had no choice but to stay in the original room. The included breakfast was of poor quality & subpar. Coffee, other than the cappuccino from the bar, was undrinkable as was the orange juice that was grainy & weak &tasted like it came from a mix. Hot breakfast items such as eggs were all ice cold. There were flies crawling over other buffet choices. The grounds were not well kept & was in poor repair. Loose had railings & broken tiles on stairs were safety issues & the pool had a green algae ring around it. Some of the loungers around the pool were in poor condition and broken. Leaves & bits of garbage had accumulated by stairs & wasn't cleaned up. This hotel is also in a poor location. There is a bus stop close outside but you need to take the bus to get anywhere. It was dangerous to walk on the narrow road out past it. As 2 females travelling , we did not feel comfortable or safe at this hotel. When we requested to moved to another hotel, our tour operator was assured we were in a superior suite with an unrestricted ocean view by the hotel. What a joke! Absolutely not what we received. We never saw one happy looking guest there the whole time we were there. Avoid staying here!

Where to start.. Our rooms weren’t ready when we got there. The front desk guy wasn’t helpful and George, who I guess runs the place really didn’t want to be there. After getting our room, we requested a change, it was small, 1 chair on the balcony, the a/c didn’t work, out lets were covered with tape. The 2 nd room wasn’t much better. There are no coffee makers, the mini refrigerator didn’t work. More tape on outlets. Dirty, the extra bed cover smelled like a Salvation Army complete with moths. The furniture was old, run down. Bed’s uncomfortable. The chairs at the pool were dirty and mostly broken. The 1 star is for the kind bartenders! They were personable and kind. I guess they are hired by George, the boss , to play on a soccer team. Every other place made sure our rides and transports were taken care of. They did not here and we had Had to get a cab at the last minute. They said it would be 15 euros, it was 25 to go 2 miles. It’s off the beaten path, they said the bus system is good, but we never saw it show up.

Terrible place to stay! I know they had a busy season but being in October we expected way better than this! Staff was unfriendly and the rooms were dirty and had lots of bugs in it! The first room they offered us smelled so bad we asked for another on the spot! Checked under the bed because the rollers on the bed were not blocked so it moved all over the place! Ton of dirt and old socks under there! Did not feel comfortable sleeping and not safe! The food was terrible and i got sick although it may have been a coincidence but felt sick there the whole 3 Days! Asked for coffee in the morning and was told to wait cause machine was not plugged in yet when they were Open! If you walk into the little village it’s great food and that is where we went always! No sidewalks to walk there and streets are very norrow and dangerous! Not safe at night! Would never recommend this Hotel to anyone and it is in the middle of nowhere! Really not a Palace!!

Naxos Palace is a self proclaimed 4 star hotel but in my opinion that is not correct. The rooms are a decent size but tired and dated. When did you ever stay in a 4 star hotel that didn’t provide basic tea and coffee making facilities in the room, or a comfortable chair to relax on? The shower room was spacious but the tile grouting was stained by mould. There had obviously been a shelf for toiletries in the shower cubicle but all that remained of it was a rusty line and two holes in the tiles where the screws had gone. The sun beds were mostly broken and needed replacing. The breakfast was the same every day which isn’t a big deal but uncovered food and flies is a definite no-no. They ran out of English Breakfast tea bags and never replenished them. The gardens were uncared for. As a base it was okay, the buses stop right outside, but a four star it ain’t

This hotel was rated 4 star but I would doubt this rating. The staff were friendly and welcoming but we just felt the hotel lacked a bit of love when considering standards. The dark wood throughout also makes it look very old and dated. The pool itself was cool and refreshing but the sun beds were old and some really needed replacing. Rooms were basic but had everything you would need for a stay. We booked a double and ended up with two single beds pushed together. The balcony was overgrown with trees, which on a positive sheltered us from the main road, but meant we couldn’t ever really sit out and struggled to see the sea view. The AC didn’t work at first but they fixed it straight away. It was quite noisy but did the job. Breakfast was lovely. The choice of food was great but they were not quick at tidying up plates or mopping up spills. Some days I saw breakfast pots left on tables still at mid-day. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the beach along a dusty road with no pavement. This isn’t too bad during the day but we were nervous walking back in the dark. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. For a couple of euros you can get to Naxos town and that is worth a trip. The streets and atmosphere there is fabulous. Food and drink is also reasonably priced in Naxos Town.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Staff were wonderful, pool is lovely, location is out of Naxos town but the bus stop is outside the front door and the buffet breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend hotel!!

The interior is completely used and after taking a shower the bathroom turns into a swimming pool because the harmonika shower curtain doesn’ t fit anymore in the rails. Some lights are defect and wifi is poor. The garden is not maintained well and the paved tiles are broken at various places. The seats in the pool area are random placed, a selection of the last couple of years, not matching with eachother, some of them defect and extremely used. The breakfast is very mediocre. The breakfast room is very hot in summer, the airconditioned space is used for the coffee machines while tourists and food are boiling in the other areas. You can sit in the outdoor space if any, but tables are not clothed or cleaned after sby else had breakfast. If milk is spoiled on the ground, it is not cleaned up and even the cats, who are begging from food at your table, do not lick the milk ! I don’ t understand this hotel has a 4* rating

I would never recommend staying at this hotel. We were staying for 2 nights. We arrived with our tour group late in the evening. There were two staff at the front desk, one spoke English the other didn't. The one who didn't speak English also did not know his way around the complex. Check in was a disaster. My husband and I were taken by the non English desk clerk to our room, three different areas and three different rooms until he found ours. Our AC worked, which was a bonus as our friends room we were traveling with didn't and they ended up moving rooms in the middle of the night to another room where it too didn't have working AC. This is why you shouldn't stay here. Durning the night, I woke up with my buttocks and the lower part of my back, wet. My nightgown too. Now... before you think I had an accident, I didn't and I'm not that old or too proud to admit it. I was so tired, I thought that maybe I was sweating a lot, even though I don't sweat like that especially there, anyways, I woke up a second time and this time I told my husband as to what was going on. We turned on the light, we looked at the mattress topper, it was damp but no stain (validating I didn't have an accident), we then lifted up the mattress topper there was a large pee stain on the bed mattress that had soaked through the mattress topper and onto me. We were both mortified. We took video and pictures (because I didn't want to be blamed). We sent a text to our tour guide to let him know what happened also the next day we talked to our friends, who also had the same bed configuration, and they had no mattress topper. In the morning our tour guide came up to our room. He was in shock. He and my husband went to the front desk. Our tour guide helped navigate the situation. To make a long story short, the front desk offered us a new room available at noon. Myself and our friends (they also were told they would have a new room because of the AC problems) waited until 4 pm to get in to our new rooms. These were much better as I knew they would be and funny, our bed didn't have a mattress topper. What makes this frustrating, beyond the obvious, is that the hotel literally covered up the whole situation and thought it was okay to continue to rent out the room. Secondly, we missed a tour that day waiting for our new rooms to be ready. You would think we would be a priority after everyone checked out, that they would immediately work on our room and our friends room first before anything else. They didn't. So yes, don't stay here. There are better hotels closer to town and in town that are the same price as this one. Always check reviews on TA. This was a hotel planned and booked by our tour company, whom I will be reaching out to as well. Otherwise, I know we wouldn't have opted for this hotel in general as it was too far from all the town night life and action.
