The place was magical.Very cold as it is winter there...the mist is ethereal in the morning!i walked through the domain with a sense of peace....wild ducks quackled their way in front me on the way to the restaurant where breakfast is served with a warm wood chimney which immediately warmed my body!the breakfast is basic though ...not a buffet.....the overall stay was sometbing unique for me A must stay....i.highly recommend

The lodge was under renovation we were not informed before so limited wine tasting The restaurant where was tasting was done and supper had closed at 19:00. So we were rushed off to room by 7! You could feel the need to leave.

Great location, lovely breakfast and great pizza spot (even though the pizzas were average). But the rooms are tired or grunge, i.e. they need updating or a makeover. For example, old brown couches just look dirty (even when they are clean), old beige painted walls with chipped edges and furnishings that had clearly seen better days. This was a pity because the rooms were 2 stars when the lodge overall is 4 stars.

A perfect place to visit in Stellenbosch area. Free wine tasting, delicious dishes at the restaurant and very friendly staffs.

Overall it was a lovely stay. The food is exceptional and the wine truly delightful. The room was beautifully furnished and the pool area very well maintained and arranged.

facilities, location and surroundings are beautiful. The staff, however, is not very welcoming and their friendliness, willingness and availability are rather limited, to put it kindly. The place has an unfriendly and paranoid policy regarding the mini bar. I don't know if there will be people who use it, but it would be better if they eliminated it. Having the espresso for breakfasts separately despite having breakfast is surely customary, but it shocks and makes the stay a little less pleasant. The place, however, is beautiful.

Great estate with Nice rooms. Unfortunately our diner in the restaurant was very disappointing. We ordered the menu with pairing wines. It took a long time for our food and our waitress left us nearly an hour with only water to drink. Then we received the two first course with the pairing wine all together, second course went cold. We made a complaint when also course 3 and 4 were served at the Same time. They took away course nr 4 and brought It back after we finished course nr 3. It was all cooked out and not eatable anymore. They gave US a packed lunch to go for the next day as a compensation but we did not finish our diner and our evening was ruined. Hoever we payed for the full meal! I will never visit the estate again nor will I recommend It to anyone.
