La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Stockton

I can't even give a proper review because I never received my room. They denied me a room upon check-in after I had already had a prepaid reservation booking. The reason is that they were "overbooked" and didn't have any staff to clean the rooms, so they said that they had 80+ dirty rooms. Many other guests who were also trying to check in experienced the same level of frustration. Additionally, the hotel staff had not informed me at all about this issue before my arrival, and I even tried calling before my arrival to see if they offered early check-ins, but no one had answered. To make things even worse, the two girls behind the counter who were handling the check-ins were laughing and giggling about the situation and at the customers' reactions, making jokes about them as I was being assisted, trying to be checked in. At the same time, these customers whom the staff girls were joking about were storming out or frustrated outside, trying to explain the situation to their families. In the end, I didn't receive a refund from the hotel, was denied a room, was not offered any compensation, and was consistently lied to by hotel staff over the phone for the next few days while I tried to receive a refund for the room/service that I had never received. All for an issue that was not in my control or my fault. In the end, it was sad, but I had to sleep in the car with my partner, instead of the room I had reserved and paid for weeks in advance for my one-night stay in Stockton. Not to mention, she was visiting Stockton for the first time, traveling all the way from Bakersfield just to see me, with the only day she had available this year because it was Memorial Day weekend, and this ruined the whole trip. I hope no one has to experience this lack of professionalism from this location.

Very relaxing

Property is somewhat dated and a bit hard to locate in the area where it is located. Jut kind of hidden. There was a good half inch gap on the side of the door. Bathroom was dated and appeared to have mouse droppings behind the door. It was very conviently located to restaurants. We traveled with our small dog and it was well situated with pet areas.

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The room was not clean when we arrived. We found a toenail clipping on the floor, and the entire room smelled like old cigarette smoke and had a dirty, musty odor. The bathroom was especially unpleasant. The shower had visible stains, and both the bathroom and shower appeared unclean and poorly maintained. It did not feel sanitary. One of the biggest concerns was the room door. It did not close or lock properly and had a large gap between the door and the frame where you could actually see light coming through. This made us feel very unsafe, as it didn’t seem like the room was secure. Overall, the cleanliness and condition of the room were unacceptable. I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to its cleanliness, maintenance, and guest safety.

Hotel needs to be renovated in some areas. The carpets in the stair area looked dirty. Our room was pretty clean and AC worked great. Keep an eye out if you use the vending machines by the lobby as the price you pay is not what the machine says. Got one soda can where price marked price read $1.50 and my card was charged $6. I was at the front desk and was told they're was nothing they can do as the machine comes from a vendor. He was going to notify the owner and I hope they can do something about it as I can that a rip off. Pretty quiet and affordable hotel.

The hotel was okay, the blankets were so thing it was like using a sheet. The ice maker was broken and you could hear every single noise in the place inside and out. The surrounding area is horrible and unsafe. The hotel seems to be more for one night stays.

The room was supposed to be a non smoking room it wasn’t. You could smell smokers residue. Cigarette burn marks were on the bathtub. The bathroom door was hard to close and when closed to open it made a loud noise to open it! My grandson had white socks on and walked around in his socks, they were completely black on the bottom. The pool was a plus for us, we hen I booked the room but when we went to go look for the pool it was completely green. I have stayed at La Quinta in the pasted and was completely satisfied. I was disappointed with the this booking! However, the staff were very cordial and helpful! I was told that by checkout personnel that I would receive my receipt for my stay from *******, the third party institution, to this day I haven’t received a receipt from either company!

The rooms were very nice, had some spots that were not thoroughly cleaned but overall it wasn’t anything that was too much to fuss about. The rooms had a very pleasant a smell, and the beds were very comfortable.

Our stay was very disappointing. The pool was dirty, and our room was not cleaned well upon arrival. The biggest issue was that we accidentally left behind a $100 wedge pillow that is medically necessary. We returned to the hotel the same night and again the following day to retrieve it, but we were repeatedly told they did not have it. It's very upsetting that an item so important for a medical condition could not be located, especially after we reported it so quickly. Based on our experience with the cleanliness and the handling of our lost item, I cannot recommend staying here. I hope management takes steps to improve housekeeping standards and their lost-and-found procedures.
