Had a one night break with my wife to visit the local heritage railway for it's spring steam gala. The Sheep is a superb little hotel perfectly located in the heart of Stow on the Wold. The public areas were very welcomimg and spotless, and the reception check in was seamless and handled extremely well by a lovely friendly lady. The room (10) was spotlessly clean and well appointed with a superb bathroom and comfortable bed. The only concern for me was a low beam in the ceiling that I bumped into more than once. But that was my fault after the first occasion. We booked a table in the very busy restaurant and had a superb meal served by some excellent staff. Breakfast was included and was also excellent. We visited on the hottest day of the year to date. so the room was extremely hot and cooled by a desk fan as there is no aircon in these traditional hotels. Thankfully we took our own fan as well which was very welcome and there were no concerns with a sleepless night. We have stayed in Stow several times and The Sheep is probably the best hotel we've stayed in to date. We'd have no issue staying here again in the near future.

I wasn't completely happy with my stay. They use old-school physical keys for the rooms and front door which they'll give you when you checkin. I tried to lock my room with the front door key because there is no way to tell which on is for which, the key snapped in half and they charged me 20 quid for that. Apart from that I would say it's a nice little hotel and their breakfast was good.

Very good, prime location, we ate at the hotel and the food and drink was amazing. Will definitely be recommending this hotel

Extremely well equipped room and bathroom. Full of character. The restaurant is quite noisy but the food and service were excellent. Breakfast was first rate. Location in the centre of Stow is perfect.

A fantastic experience. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and full of character, with views of the street. The location is perfect—peaceful and picturesque, yet close to the main sights. We would love to come back and recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Cosy pub hotel and great breakfast although slight on the pricy side. No air conditioning although a small fan was provided in the room during our summer stay @29’c !

We love everything about this hotel, strategic locations, free parking, delicious breakfast (never missed to try the raspberry compote)
