YHA Stratford-Upon-Avon

Great place for friendships and just socialise. Roof and a bed. Always clean. Friendly and polite staff. Very helpful. A roof and a bed, perfect space for everyone to try and see.

My first night staying at a YHA and it was pleasant. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the reception staff was friendly and helpful, and the bed was clean and comfortable. I'd not shared a room with strangers before, so it took a while to get used to, and I forgot to bring a towel, but that's my own shortcoming. The self-catering kitchen was a good size and looked well-equipped, though I only took advantage of the sink and washing up essentials.

The room itself was generally fine, and the heating worked perfectly. However, we experienced a significant issue with the bathroom: the water would not drain properly, leaving the floor flooded. We had to use a wiper to push the water toward the sink and drain (images attached), which was very inconvenient. Another surprising and disappointing detail was that no towels or soap were provided. These are basic essentials in any hotel, and since we did not bring our own, we were charged extra for them. This felt completely unreasonable. Finally, the location is far from ideal. The hotel is quite a distance from the town centre, and public transport is infrequent, making it difficult to get around. Would not recommend!!!

Peaceful location with access into Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick via the bus links. A great place to stay!

Very helpful staff. They repurposed a contact lens holder for me in the middle of the night as I had forgotten mine at home. Beautiful place with a massive garden all around. Great meal options. Overall was a great stay.

Staff very friendly and welcoming, always greeted you when you entered. Good facilities for self catering. Rooms a little dated but clean. Good quality bunk beds-not rickety or squeaky. Only negative I would say is the sheets aren’t big enough for the bed-even someone who sleeps like a corpse wouldn’t be able to keep it on the mattress. Overall happy with my experience here and would recommend!
