Grosvenor Hotel

This was our honeymoon hotel back in 1979 and was the most luxurious hotel in the area. We went back yesterday only to be told it is no longer open to the general public and has now been repurposed Such a shame - was really looking forward to seeing it again 46 years on

We were initially allocated a room which did not meet the spec of what we had booked. Upon complaining we were told by the receptionist that the room spec was base on bed size. We escalated the complaint and were offered another room which was superior. However it was apparent this room was still not up to standard. Did not want to spend our anniversary weekend complaining. Would not go back. Room like a Furness no aircon

The Grand was a bit disappointing for the price we paid. We had a leak in the bathroom, these things happen. Our room was for disabled people, of which we are not, so rails all over the place and needs a face lift. Bathroom shower was stained. Most of the staff were lovely and very helpful. The staff at breakfast could do with some training on how to smile and say good morning, basic manners cost nothing. Two were giggling at people having breakfast, very unprofessional. Not one member of staff spoke a word to us. In a positive note, the breakfast was nice and a good choice. On the whole, I don’t think we would go back.

The hotel was clean although a little dated in places , the seating area outside could of done with a tidy up. The breakfasts looked lovely from what we saw. Perfect location only 5 minute walk into town. parking was £9 a day which was perfect . Our room 265 was tiny compared to what you see on the photos, they are very misleading . Iron but no ironing board. we stayed here during the heatwave and believe it or not they had the heating on which was not ideal and very uncomfortable ( it was cooler outside than in our room ) we did ask for it to be turned off on two occasions but to no avail, we were told it was on a timer and nothing could be done .. two little fans in our room blowing hot air about.. no Air conditioning. only bottled or canned beer no draught. no complementary toiletries. stratford itself is a beautiful place with lots to see .. Will definitely return but maybe try a different hotel next time

One night here Lovely friendly staff very helpful. Room was beautiful and very clean Comfy bed, powerful shower Smart TV Great location Continental breakfast was great quality (kitchen being refitted so no hot breakfast) Definitely recommend this place and will come back soon
