Lovely hotel, friendly staff, lovely waterside location in Salford, one can board the tram to the City Centre or Eccles with only a five minute walk from the hotel. I stayed for the Coronation Street experience which was fantastic. It was, however, disappointing that one is required, in addition to paying a hotel fee, to pay for parking. I know this is a city hotel but that’s not the point. Parking should be in my opinion included in the price. Whilst this would not be a deterrent to me staying at the hotel in the future, it was a major letdown, as indeed were certain parts of the breakfast experience. The staff on duty were always friendly and attentive to detail, however I prefer to use a buffet system for my cooked meals. Here, a member of staff takes your order. The toaster also did not work properly. If one toasts a slice of bread, it is not cooked sufficiently however to place it in a second time results in the bread being overcooked, so no happy medium. Small glasses only provided for juice larger ones would be more suitable, and in addition they only had decaf instant coffee. I don’t like filtered coffee from the machine, it is too strong and bitter, I always have instant and instant only. Be that as it may, the quality of the food and service at breakfast was excellent. The hot food was delivered piping hot within minutes. Overall, I would definitely recommend and return.
