Best Hotels in Sucre
Explore Sucre from hotels near iconic landmarks, popular shopping streets, and top dining spots.
Hostal Recoleta Sur ★★
"Pros: comfortable bed, well located in the middle of the town, close to many good restaurants and the bus to the dinosaur park (best thing to do in sucre). Included breakfast was simple but had a variety of fruit and a bit of bread and butter. Cons: rooms adjacent to the road are very noisy and both nights we stayed we were woken multiple times. The windows are thin and don't lose properly. Ask for a room away from the road and you should have a great night's sleep."
El Hotel de Su Merced ★★★
"Luxury, good in all aspects"
Hostelling Bustillo ★★
Casa Verde B&B ★★
"A good B&B at a reasonable price in Sucre, well located for visiting the city. We had a large family room for two on the ground floor with a terrace. Breakfast (served at a communal table) wasn't varied enough in our opinion."
El Jardin de Su Merced B&B ★★★
"This is simply one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Airy, sunny rooms cooled by gentle breezes high above the city. Quiet private accommodations within a large well landscaped walled compound. Easily within walking distance of this delightful world heritage city. This is the epitome of a small boutique B & B. The hosts are lifetime sucre residents who make sure their guests are well cared for. Don’t hesitate to book this one. We spent 5 nights here and wish it had been longer!"
Hotel Villa Antigua ★★★★
"The hotel is truly beautiful, with a colonial style and a third-floor terrace offering lovely views. Cleanliness was impeccable. However, the service doesn't live up to the price (it's among the most expensive in Sucre). There were no thoughtful touches in the room; a bottle of water would have been the bare minimum. There were no glasses in the bathroom, so you have to rinse your teeth at the tap (this is a 4-star hotel...!!). Breakfast was mediocre; the employee in charge of breakfast completely ignored us. She didn't offer eggs; you had to ask for them, to the point that I didn't get any for two days because I thought they were out. In conclusion, apart from the very friendly receptionists, there is absolutely no attention to the customer. As a hospitality professional, it disappoints me to see such a beautiful hotel so poorly managed. This hotel relies solely on its architecture. What a shame."
Cruz de Popayán ★★
San Marino Royal Hotel ★★★★
"Location is very good although services and breakfast are not varied, so I don't understand the one with 4 stars, since the service is generally from a 3-star hotel"
Parador Santa Maria la Real ★★★★
"The hotel interior, rooftop terrace, and basement rooms are beautiful and historic. Unfortunately, the rooms have issues. The smell when you first enter the room is that of chemicals- such as insect spray. The bathroom continually smells of sewer, but the intensity waxes and wanes. My doorknob was broken and the door only worked by the key. My safe was locked so I couldn’t use it. There was no way to heat or cool the room. My room was too hot. I could hear other guests talking until after midnight. My first morning the shower went from warm to completely cold while I had shampoo on my hair. To get hot water in the first place, I had to run the tap for nearly five minutes. In a city that is predicted to run out of water by 2050, this is criminal (install a hot water circulation system!). There was no lotion provided and only two towels. The hot tubs were empty; I was told you needed to schedule them. I saw three cardio machines but no yoga mat/stretching area. I did not sleep much; I couldn’t wait to leave."
