El Hotel de Su Merced
"Luxury, all aspects are better"
Hostal Recoleta Sur
"Comfortable and very pleasant place to stay. We only had one problem when we got to the room, the bathroom was not clean and I booked a room with a double bed and we ended up in a room with single beds. But only two details. The rest was very nice, good breakfast."
Casa Verde B&B
"What a gem of a find this place was. I arrived very early in the morning, after catching the overnight bus from La Paz. Luckily my room was ready, so they gave me immediate access to it. The room was spacious and had a delightful outlook onto the courtyard. The whole place was immaculate; the shower had plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Sucre is a wonderful city to visit and I'd highly recommend Casa Verde as a place to stay in this beautiful city."
El Jardin de Su Merced B&B
"This is a gorgeous B&B not far from city center. We wished we could have spent more than one night here. The breakfast was homemade and the rooms very comfortable."
San Marino Royal Hotel
"Location is very good although services and breakfast are not varied, so I don't understand the one with 4 stars, since the service is generally from a 3-star hotel"
Hostelling Bustillo
Cruz de Popayán
Hotel Monasterio
"This hotel is a shame. We had a suite below the bar and opposite the bar's guest toilets. Impossible to sleep before 1am. The little gentleman at reception who speaks French lied to us when we asked him if it was a good room before going in. No apology and no refund when leaving and we were asked to leave because we started complaining! European travelers avoid this hotel."
Parador Santa Maria la Real
"The hotel interior, rooftop terrace, and basement rooms are beautiful and historic. Unfortunately, the rooms have issues. The smell when you first enter the room is that of chemicals- such as insect spray. The bathroom continually smells of sewer, but the intensity waxes and wanes. My doorknob was broken and the door only worked by the key. My safe was locked so I couldn’t use it. There was no way to heat or cool the room. My room was too hot. I could hear other guests talking until after midnight. My first morning the shower went from warm to completely cold while I had shampoo on my hair. To get hot water in the first place, I had to run the tap for nearly five minutes. In a city that is predicted to run out of water by 2050, this is criminal (install a hot water circulation system!). There was no lotion provided and only two towels. The hot tubs were empty; I was told you needed to schedule them. I saw three cardio machines but no yoga mat/stretching area. I did not sleep much; I couldn’t wait to leave."
