If you’re on the fence about Bulgaria, I’d say go, it’s a lovely welcoming place, very family friendly and everyone we met seemed very respectful. Hotel staff endlessly polite and patient especially at the bar. Pools, not heated so can feel cold but slides kept you busy as well as the (very) lazy river - although think a jet was broken as it had rapids almost while we were there in one area! Food is good, almost always a chips and nuggets option or burger. We all loved the breaded pork, battered cauliflower, gnocchi and pizza as some stand outs. Custom omelettes for breakfast but easily made full englishes or continental and even had fruit with muesli one day. Snack bar also serves late breakfast. We got lucky with pool view, but others had car park views. We went early September and it was VERY quiet by the time we left. 2 handy shops on site, the one by the restaurants (not in premium building) is better and cheaper and labelled supermarket. Pros: -Activity staff were great, always offering things to do, but not pushy if you said no -No pushy sales people at the resort or on the beach unlike most other places -Huge variety of food -Italian a la carte restaurant was 10/10, and they made it special for us with a birthday, the manager is really understanding. -No pushing for tips -Bar staff move between bars to help reduce queues but never leave a bar with no staff -Beach is good, little taps to wash sand off before you go and brushes back at the hotel -Parasailing and other water sports available for extra on the beach -Beach exit is on the main ***** so easy access to tourist shops, pharmacies and other paid for bars as well as McDonalds/KFC/Lidl/Carre four/Burger King etc -Road train stops just outside hotel, great for people who struggle walking long distances but want to go to the markets or Nessebar (6BGN any distance any direction) Cons: -On the beach all you hear is the platinum ****** advert all day every day. -Room water pipes clearly connected as we could hear conversations echo and whenever someone within 2 rooms flushed or showered -Food was very same ish every night in buffet restaurant -Mexican restaurant was a major let down with stale or cold food or just not as described. -Snack bar only open 1000-1700 -Plug hole water slide, most popular, only open 1600-1700 each day, sometimes had to queue for 10 minutes -Lots of jelly fish in the sea, be careful we got dunked near a lot of them when parasailing and they sometimes get into the swimming areas -Lazy river was broken and had some very difficult to cross rapids at the back due to broken jets. -Booking a birthday cake is around 70BGN (30GBP) which we felt was very expensive -Only one lift in main/C block for disabled access, premium block had more lifts but all bedrooms were up stairs so not accessible.
