Hotel Kotva - All Inclusive

Food was the worst I have ever experienced in a all-inclusive ever.so after reading all bad reviews I thought I'd give it a chance and see for my self but..thay where right the food is bad what a waste of my hard earned money. The hotel is stunning and the rooms are great,the cleaning is good,but not in the room,thay didn't make the beds once,just left clean sheets for u to do it yourself,not what I was expecting to be doing on my holiday but there we go. The entertainment was amazing thay really do work hard,location is not the best if u like a lot going on,we was paying £24 a night to go to the main centre where there is a lot more going on. The food was disgusting 🫣 we only ate in the restaurant once and then but it in the bin,everything was cold and tasted like it had been there for days,the staff in the restaurant was very rude and dont speak any English,the food was never for the British, thay did have snacks through the day like burgers chips and pizza but they were full of bees flying on them 🤢,after paying for a all-inclusive we ended up having to eat out everyday wich ended up very expensive has there was 4 of us,so I would never recommend or return to this hotel unless thay had a self-catering option.

Stayed here end of August. Pools great, water park was a hit with our 11 yr old. Food in restaurant hit n miss but food at waterpark area was good.Room/cleaning perfect stayed in 156 overlooking the big swimming pool where the entertainment was, entertainment hit n miss but didn't affect us as we were out to Nessabar or Sunny beach. Bus stop top of street 2lev each 5 mins to either resort very handy. Don't look at bad reviews!!

The animations were really good especially Polish animator Filip with great,friendly open attitude towards kids. They loved spending time with him. Waterpolo for kids and adults are also performed so families can relax and enjoy holiday time.

The hotel is good for family, rooms are comfortable and clean everyday. But the biggest job do animation team. They do a lot of competitions and games for childs and also for adults. For polish kids is also polish animator which has a really good hand to kids.

Animation staff are the friendliest people at the place and very outgoing they made our time worthwhile there to be honest. The cleaners are also friendly and deserve to be paid more than what they do for the work they do, they are worth tipping and taking care of (they are patted down at the back gate before they leave after every shift)

The guys who run the waterpolo and other activities hats off to them for being so fun and interacting with the customers around the pool, both 2 tan young fellows - great young guys 👌👌

My partner and I and our 1 year old daughter had a room booked along with 6 other families who all travelled together

They expected our 1 year old daughter to sleep in the middle of 2 single beds pushed together for 2 weeks… we had to pay 10Lev per day for a cot for her to sleep in total of 140LEV for 2 weeks (£70 odd extra ontop of what we have already paid for the room) (giving they knew we had a baby writen down for the room)
They refused to give us our passports back until it’s paid.

The food at the restaurant is the exact same stuff every single morning, afternoon and lunch with one or 2 changes per time throughout the day ; and the quality of food is shockingly bad. We ended up eating out most days not taking advantage of our Paid for All Inclusive.

Coming to the end of our stay the hotel was so packed out you could not get a seat in the restaurant, we had plates full of food and asked the lady who sits at the door of the restauraunt could we bring our food out to the lobby to eat as there are no seats and we where told no, I asked “do you want us to sit on the ground and eat?” She shrugged her shoulders due to not understanding English I’m guessing or could have just ignorance, and we left our plates of food there and walked out.

A little grumpy old man goes around the pool each day looks just like someone on their holiday (no staff attire on) and shouts at you if you have the towels from your room at the pool and confiscates them 

To go to the gym it’s 5lev for an hour which is cheap I suppose about £2.50 but I questioned why it’s not just free after all I’ve paid to stay here and use the facilities and the gym is very tiny with not much to do in it.

The bins around the pool often give off a horrendous smell which attracts a lot of flys/wasps/mosquitoes etc.. always flying around you.

The rooms are well maintained by the cleaners every day to a good standard, our room in particular however constantly had a bad smell in the bathroom must have been from the drains, the cleaners noticed without us telling them though and did bleach the drains which neutralised it for short periods each day.

Not much English is spoke by the staff it’s hard to get your point across about stuff. The bar staff in the (restaurant) are very rude and smug.
The bar staff around the pool however are nice enough and fast at giving you your drinks etc but don’t smile much ( think they are told not to interact with customers too much )

Currently day 10 at Hotel Kotva. Hotel is lovely, rooms are cleaned daily I honestly don’t agree with any of the reviews about this place being dirty! Food is repeated but this happens a lot on all inclusive holidays. Drinks are good, cocktails made up from scratch not a horrible pre mix like other holidays I’ve been on. Staff are friendly and pools are amazing! We are a family of 6 with another family of 4. We would all definitely stay here again!
