Hotel Venus

I’ve just arrived here and I’ve had the most spectacular day after a few decidedly difficult dodgy experiences as a solo female in Bulgaria. I was very jaded when I arrived and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They checked me in early. My room was immaculate. the pool is beautiful. This is a very small hotel, but it’s like an oasis in this neighbourhood, I cannot recommend it enough especially if you’re a female and you want to safe Haven outside is chaotic and it’s great to dip in and out but some of the bigger hotels I stayed in were anonymous and quite frankly this is the first place I felt totally safe and able to completely relax it’s 10 out of 10 from me.

What a absolutely gem of a find hotel Venus it’s amazing we had a superior deluxe it was just perfect reception kitchen bar staff and the gardener all wonderful and all do there jobs with much pride pool area great no fighting for sun beds. Great place.

decent clean hotel but not for me pros and cons.PROS - very clean,lovely pool,nice room with very comfy beds,staff ok the two tall lads and receptionists very pleasant the rest not so good, good position .CONS-breakfast terrible tastelessand badly cooked only fried eggs every other day which were overcooked the rest even worse toaster takes 10 minutes to do its job juices just cheap squash and coffee not good. no lift so no good for anyone older or a bit inferm we were on 4th floof and ite stairs nearly killed me especially carry up our cases when we arrived so beware of this.towels only changed once in 10 days and bed linen not at all,expensive drinks, beer 5 lev when its 2 or 3 lev everywhere else, pool toilets horrible dirty dungeons.we had agood time but would certainly not return to this hotel.

Our first visit to Bulgaria and after reading reveiws for the Hotel Venus, we felt confident we were going to enjoy our stay, the hotel is ideally situated close to the seafront and flower street the main ***** in Sunny beach but whilst all the activity, hustle and bustle is on your doorstep, the Hotel Venus is a lovely relaxing retreat to while away the days and soak up Bulgarian sun by the inviting pool. Bulgaria is definitely a country to holiday in your own style offering excellent value for money in the restaurants & bars, plenty of opportunities to unwind take in a spa, massage or sightseeing trips. A trip to the old town Nessebar is a must a total contrast to Sunny beach, you can either take the sea ferry for 15 Lev, bus for 2 lev or land train 6lev beware Taxis are not cheap. We were surprised to find no lift available in the hotel so if your mobility is impaired be aware, although they do have ground floor apartments within the grounds. Not one to share negativity but perhaps breakfast could be so much better but tea and toast surficed for us. Shout out too to the janitorial team our room was always impeccable serviced every day.

So we visited Venus for the 3rd time but think it will be our last. Its getting quite pricey for bed and breakfast, and for the 3rd year running the breakfast has got worse. Im not a picky eater but this year found myself having the odd slice of toast and an egg. No more bacon, beans or hash browns. You can buy a breakfast that has all those items tho lol. The same with the food menu for lunch, theres nothing to choose from, no more pizzas or steaks, just toasties and chips. The pool bar wasnt open either, and they are charging 5 lev for low alcohol beer. I know inflation has forced things up, but bars round the corner are still selling the same larger for 2 or 3 lev. The cleanliness was spot on as usual, rooms nice, spacious and cleaned daily. We managed to get a sun bed each day, but there isn't enough for the amount of guests there is. They need to get rid of some of the trees and bushes, it would allow more space for sun beds. Some of the bar staff look miserable constantly, compared to previous years who were smiling always. All in all its a very clean hotel, close to flower street but for a bb hotel we won't be paying 3500 for 2 weeks, especially when the fenix is a grand cheaper.

Lovely little hotel staff very friendly. Would like to stay here again next time we go to Bulgaria. Not far from beach and shops.A hidden gem.cannot fault this hotel After staying in various other hotels with plenty of places to eat in walking distance.
