Waterman Beach Village ★★★★

📍 Vrilo 7, Supetar

"Disappointing – Definitely Not a 4-Star Resort Unfortunately, I really struggle to understand how this accommodation is rated as 4-star. In my opinion, it’s 2–3 star at best. The location itself is good. There is a bit of a walk to the shops and into town, but the town is absolutely stunning and well worth visiting. Sadly, the accommodation and facilities were a real disappointment: • Beach beds are charged at €6 per person, per day, which soon adds up for a family. • The swimming pool situation is dreadful and certainly not what we expected from a supposed 4-star resort. • The rooms are basically small portacabins with very little storage. • The bathroom is extremely small, dated and had visible damage. • Cleanliness inside the accommodation was below the standard we expected from 4 star accommodation. • We were constantly having to ring for towels because the correct amount wasn't being left for our family. • The "beach bar" is little more than a fridge selling overpriced beers and soft drinks. • There is no shop on site to buy basic essentials. • The main onsite bar only opens in the morning and evening, meaning there is nowhere to conveniently get snacks, food, drinks or even a beer during the afternoon. One of the biggest disappointments is the difference between reality and what is posted online. Do not rely too heavily on the website or social media images when deciding whether to book. They have clearly been photographed and presented very creatively, because they give a much better impression of the accommodation and facilities than we experienced in reality. For the price being charged and the advertised 4-star rating, we expected considerably better. Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend staying here based on our experience. That said, Brač itself is absolutely stunning. It's a beautiful island with some fantastic towns, beaches and scenery, and we would happily return to Brač — we'd just choose somewhere else to stay next time. Very disappointed!"

"I can’t think of a better place to stay. The site really lives up to its name: Boutique. It’s a snippet of paradise on an island that is green, unspoiled and clean. Management have honored nature with the set-up and design of the buildings, and they provide spotless facilities. A big shout out to the fabulous Edita at front desk. You’ll receive a warm welcome and I reckon the biggest stress ball would unwind under the tranquility of pine trees and views of azure colored sea."

Aminess Vival Casa Velaris ★★★

"This hotel does not respect reservations. I reserved a double bed room and specifically added a note that we are on our honeymoon. But they gave us a TWIN bed room! (two separated beds). Considering the hotel is called AMOR it is really annoying that they dont understand what kind of room a couple wants when in their honeymoon! To be honest I expected at least a greeting at the reception "congrats" or something like that. But it is obvious they don't read the guest comments in the reservations. The next day they gave us the double bed room that we requested in the first place, but off course it was really a twin bed united, so with a nice gap in between. An official "We're sorry" from the hotel would have been nice too. They should really consider changing the name of the hotel... The standard rooms are nothing like the pictures provided by the hotel. Between the bed and the front wall there is only 1 meter, so it feels really narrow. The hotel is in good condition, the gardens are beatiful and the breakfast is good, but the hotel is far from center (20 min walk)."

"This hotel is a little outside Supetar - about a mile or 20 minutes walk down a gentle slope. It appears to be several smaller hotels of different standards and styles under one management. We were in a separate block of apartments which I would not describe as 4 star but they were adequate and spotlessly cleaned every day. We were only on Bed & Breakfast - which was excellent with every breakfast imaginable and lovely fresh bread. We did go for dinner once (30 euros) which was quite good but we found the restaurants i town to be better value. The staff here are great especially the bar and cleaning staff, not forgetting the gardeners who keep the large grounds in great shape. The beach is very stony so take swim shoes. The swimming pool was fine(if a little cold) in May but it is small and I imagine would be crowded in high season. Overall this is a great base for Supetar and the ferry to Split."

"This lovely boutique hotel is in a great location in Supetar- easy walk to the beaches, restaurants and ferry yet in a quiet, private neighborhood setting. Our room was spacious, comfortable (especially the beds) and clean. Breakfasts in the light filled courtyard were wonderful. The hotel staff are incredible. They accommodated our every need and made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived."

Waterman Beach Village ★★★★
"Lovely location - stunning beach a few minutes walk (children spent hours in the clear water snorkeling, but water shoes are a must with the sea urchins! ). Easy walk along the water into the town. Great restaurant / bar along the way - Bistro Pizzeria Vrilo, which was reasonably priced and had great views over to the mainland. Also Lidl and another supermarket very nearby. However the resort facilities were tired - ie table tennis table needed a new surface. The restaurant had wonderful views but the food wasn't that good (shown I thinkby the fact we were the only people in it the evening we went). The main disappointment however was the accommodation - we had the lodge by the road (very noisy / vibrations from trucks). The master bedroom was OK and comfy bed but the bunk room was terrible - the ladder to the top bunk was broken so my son spent the first night on the PVC sofa as he couldn't climb up. We asked to move but were told we couldn't as they were full. The ladder was patch repaired the next day but was far from ideal and were constantly concerned it would break."

Boutique Camping Bunja ★★★★
"There isn’t much that is “boutique “ about Boutique Camping Bunja, except the location of the site. The actual location is lovely, right on the beach on the lovely island of Brac. But the site itself is a different story. Their publicity material claims “a touch of luxury” amid “privacy”. Beware, you will receive neither. We were given a pitch advertised as 10m x 10m, 100m2. It was nothing of the sort. I have a 7.4 metre motorhome, which they knew, and by their staff’s own admission, it would not fit diagonally across the pitch. In addition, the pitch had two very tall trees on it, one on the left and the other on the right. Both trees leaned into the pitch, meaning that the only way we could fit onto the pitch was wedged awkwardly between the two trees, unable to properly open the awning and looking directly onto the neighbouring pitch from a distance of about 10 feet. Absolutely horrible. So much for the “privacy” they mentioned. On walking around the site, we noticed that the majority of pitches were very close to each other and people and vehicles seemed crammed in. In addition, there are no heges or fences between pitches which might have afforded a little privacy, it is all ‘open plan’ with pitches squashed together, no pitch demarcation signs other than a pitch number making if difficult to identify where one pitch ends and another begins. The shower and toilet blocks were clean and modern, but there were far too few for the number of people. 2 of the 3 fibreglass “shower pods” were apparently out of order during our stay and the one that was open had no extractor, meaning that, in the 35 degree heat, even a cold shower turned the pod into a steam room. Uncomfortable and horrible. The one washing machine was almost impossible to use as there was always a queue to use it. There needed to be at last 3 for the number of people on the site. So much for the claim of “a touch of luxury”. Although the site as a whole is really not as advertised, the staff are lovely: clearly trying to do the job of dealing with unsatisfactory facilities and unhappy customers to the best of their ability. As I was wrangling with the staff about our terrible pitch, another customer told me that their experience had been much the same and that in fact, I was the fifth person to be dissatisfied with their pitch that day! If you’re going to use this site, expect to be squeezed in without any screening between pitches onto a possibility inadequately sized plot and to have to wait if you need to use the showers, toilet or washing machine. On the plus side, the on site bar and restaurant is good, with lovely sea views."

"Beyond appalling in every aspect. A chain of what was once four and five star hotels just left to fall to pieces in every way but they still want to charge four star prices for a one star experience. Their handling of medical issues and allergens is just terrible. I had a huge asthma attack in one of their other hotels because of the massively excessive use of air freshener and perfume in every toom in the hotel. Remember that smell that used to hit you when you walked into the bottom floor of Binns or House of Fraser near the perfume counter that gave you an immediate headache? Well times that by ten and you have yourself an Aminess hotel. The food is appalling. The chefs just throw everything out at the beginning of service so they can tidy up and go home and it just sits there and congeals while it goes cold. There are fruit flies walking over all of the desserts and the fruit and none of it is covered. These flies vomit all over the food and spread dangerous bacteria and then its recycled for breakfast the next day. Just disgusting. Allergen info is non existent. A Fish Stew with Shellfish labeled as a Vegi Potato Stew and Hazelnut Ice Cream with no sign at all. Anyone going into anaphylactic shock would just be an inconvenience to the staff, as I was. I mentioned this to the Restaurant Manager who actually just laughed at me. They all look like they would rather be anywhere else. The reception staff are just plain rude and unkind. Two thirds of the resort is closed after the season ends but they still continue to charge full prices. Including charging you for all drinks and even water on all inc, oh, and they charge you to sit on the sun loungers on the beach for ten mins too. Theres no food available between 9am and 7pm out of season, everything in the resort is packed away and locked up so they don't need to pay the staff any longer. I very seriously stipulated after my asthma attack (asked one manager to convey the seriousness of the issue to another manager) that I would arrive at the hotel with no inhaler until I could locate a doc/refill on the following day. I asked for a room with no air con/perfume/heating. So they booked me into a room with a perfume filled lobby, in a room above the bar (literally three ft above) that was full of cigarette smoke and when I closed the window the air con came on. I asked the manager and NO ONE knew of my medical issue. I could have had another attack in the room with no inhaler, called reception, not been able to breathe or talk and no one would have even known there was a problem. I could have died right there on the floor and no one would have given a s*** I emailed reservations immediately to try and cancel the reservation. They ignored me for four full days while I chased the manager around the building so they could FORCE me to stay and FORCE ME TO PAY IN FULL FOR THE ROOM. In their response they will try to deny this. But the manager himself told me they di"

"Supetar fully opens at the end of May and early June, so many restaurants and shops are closed until then. You are left with eating at the resort restaurant which has a large variety but can be expensive for dinner. The breakfast buffet was amazing and covered many tastes. Room was beautiful, clean, and large. Service was excellent and helpful. The spa downstairs offers many services though getting a traditional basic Swedish massage proved difficult because the masseuse only wanted to do Thai massage. Great location by the water."
